A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this mornings Business Breakfast. It was fantastic to see people come together, connect, share ideas, and enjoy a great morning of conversation and networking.

A very special thank you to our guest speaker Caroline Kelly, Digitally Direct West for sharing your time, knowledge, and valuable insights in social media and AI with us. The talk was incredibly informative and gave everyone plenty of food for thought and useful takeaways.

WESTPORT CHRISTMAS LIGHTS NEED A NEW TEAM — NOW
Westport’s much-loved Christmas lights are at risk of not going ahead in 2026 — and the town needs people to step forward now.
With Christmas just over twelve weeks away, urgent action is needed to ensure Westport is lit up for the festive season.
Westport Chamber announced earlier this year that, after two years of taking responsibility for the organisation and funding of the Christmas lights from Mayo County Council, it could no longer continue as the driving force behind the project.
During that time, the Chamber worked hard to secure funding and ensure the town enjoyed its Christmas lighting display. However, it does not have the personnel required to continue leading the fundraising effort.
Now, a new community-led Christmas Lighting Committee or Town Team is urgently needed.
Westport Chamber is willing to assist with the administration of the project, but the fundraising and organisation must now be taken forward by a new team.
Could you help keep Westport shining?
We are calling on local businesses, community groups and individuals to come forward immediately.
We need people who can help with:
• Fundraising and sponsorship
• Committee organisation
• Business and community engagement
• Promotion and communications
You don't have to do it alone. A small group of committed people coming together now could make all the difference.
The Christmas lights are an important part of Westport’s festive atmosphere, bringing colour, warmth and visitors into the town during the Christmas season.
Without a new team, there is a very real possibility that Westport will be dark this Christmas.
Don’t let the lights go out – STEP FORWARD NOW.
