TO THE MANAGEMENT OF COLLEGE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION(UCC). It about time the management of the above mentioned institution sits up. The management of CODE care less for the concerns of the graduated CODE students. What they know is to demand for higher admission, fees and higher resit fees. They forget that after three or five years, these graduates go home unemployed. What I know is that this system of education was designed for untrained teachers in the Basic schools across the country. Nowadays, many students across the country have developed interest in the programme thinking that they would not suffer in securing a job after they have completed the programme. What baffles me is that all the training colleges in Ghana are under UCC.Is the Management of CODE and Ghana Education Service trying to tell the students of CODE that they don't qualify to be teachers after completing this difficult curriculum of CODE under UCC? The saddest part is that even graduates from privates training colleges are posted. Is the management of CODE saying that they are not aware? If they are aware then, it means they are not trying at all. What they know is to demand for higher admission fees. The students of CODE should reason and embark on demonstration and fight for their right. Statistics indicate that, there are about 36,000 teaching vacancies Nationwide. Meanwhile we have CODE graduates who are unemployed. It's very sad.I think this so called CODE under UCC should be terminated if students who continue their education though distance learning from this institution are not treated well.The new government in power should look into this matter well and do something about it. Fellow Students And Graduates of CODE,let put the management of CODE on its toes to fight for our right by forwarding this message to all CODE graduates and students to come on board. ✍🏻
