First week back, first burst water main repaired 🥶🥶🥶
Cold wet start to 2025 with a lead main bursting causing the the customers garden to flood and run out onto the public highway. With a number of properties affected with low pressure and the risk of the public path and garden becoming g an ice rink we needed to act fast!!. Using our leak detecting kit, and a spot of dowsing 😉 we located the burst water main. Braving the cold and soggy garden dig we dug down taking out the old lead supply and renewing back to the stop tap in new 25mm blue MDPE.
All installed and the water back on for the street to enjoy a warm brew 😊

Major root intrusion in this manhole was causing lots of issues at a block of apartments in York City Centre. We attended today and removed the roots from all from manholes, jetted all the lines and checked with a CCTV camera. More root intrusion was found within the upstream pipework so we are returning with specialist root cutting and patch lining equipment to remove them and repair the damage they have caused, without needing to dig. Watch this space for a update on the repairs.

DSS has had a new toy to play with today. A small bore camera system which has enabled us to look through pipes as small as 32mm and will even negotiate the bend of a toilet to check the condition of the pipework. In the past, usually the toilet had to be removed to do this. It's connects via an App to any smart phone and produces a great image/video recording.

This manhole was suffering from major root intrusion causing repeated blockages. We removed all the roots from the manhole, and then used our Picote milling machine to cut the roots out of the branches, ensuring full flow. Recommendations sent to customer to repoint the manhole and install patch liner repairs to stop future root intrusion.

💥💥TEAM DSS doing what TEAM DSS does…. Bringing different skill sets to the table and delivering 💪🏼💯
We had been tasked with this job in Pickering to make safe a crumbling, loose wall/ walkway, and make it a safe entry point to the property’s. Task in had this is also only a temporary measure but had to be as cosmetically pleasing to the eye as possible. Taking the loose bricks down to a safe height and were they were solid, we then laid on top coping stones for a more natural finish and put in a post a rail fence and hand rail to gain access comfortable and safely.

💥BIG TRANSFORMATION INCOMING 💥

Team DSS dig/repair boys have been very busy the the last few days transforming this garden area we’re the levels were all falling towards the property at the the height of the DPC causing a damp issue in the property.
With a tight gate way into the garden the boys hand no option but to hand dig there way to success 💪🏼‼️
Altering the retaining stone wall opening the area up, reducing the levels and installing aco drainage channels to control the surface water and finally laying a new patio area for the customers to enjoy.
The boys have really pulled this one out of the bag and the customers are over the moon.
Such a great transformation in little time ‼️

Don’t think a water pistol will clear this mess up ‼️🤣‼️MONKS CROSS SHOPPING PARK&RIDE.
Called out to blocked overflowing toilet there and came across this 🤣🤣, least they may have had a go 🤷. Straight to the manhole at the front that was fully blocked and cleared with the HWPJ ( high water pressure) once all clear the clean up operation was in progress!! Wet vac and disinfectant and the job was soon completed and the toilets re opened 💪🏼

RAPID RESPONSE💯 REACTIVE💯 EXECUTE A PLAN AND DELIVER 💯 TEAM DS🩶🧡

Today we was called out first thing to VisionExpress to a consultation room flooding out from top water roof gully. With the water creeping into the shop there was no time to waste, and this is were we separate ourselves from anybody else out there‼️ quick thinking and executing a plan we traced were the RWDP was and cut a section out the stud wall to gain access, there we found not only were the band seals not tight ➕were the plastic met the cast iron there was a bout a inch gap AND to top it of section of the cast iron pipe missing‼️‼️‼️ BOOM 💥 defected pipe work cut out and re piped and tightened creating a fully water tight RWDP ( rain water down pipe ) 💪🏼 two full buckets of drain dye poured down from the roof and not a drop entering the room 👌👌 wet vacs at the ready and the room was back fully operational 👓🔬
NO TIME TO WASTE USE WHAT WE HAVE ON THE VAN 👌
