Cleaner Required – Holiday Lets & Commercial Properties🫧
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and detail-focused Cleaner to join our busy and friendly team!
The role will primarily involve cleaning our portfolio of holiday lets across York City Centre and the surrounding areas, ensuring each property is cleaned and presented to an excellent standard ready for arriving guests.
The position will also include cleaning for some of our commercial cleaning contracts, so flexibility with working hours is essential, as the commercial contracts are carried out either early morning or evening.
The Role...
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and preparing holiday lets between guest stays
- Maintaining consistently high cleaning and presentation standards
- Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas
- Making beds and preparing properties ready for guest arrivals
- Checking properties carefully and reporting any maintenance, damage or cleanliness issues
- Completing commercial cleaning at contracted premises
- Carrying out cleaning checks where requested
Working Hours...
This position requires a minimum of 25 hours per week, with scope to increase to up to 40 hours per week during our busier periods, so flexibility is essential.
Working days can be discussed, however applicants must be available to work Mondays and Fridays, as these are key changeover days for our holiday lets.
You will also be required to work a minimum of 2 Sundays per month. Saturdays can be chosen as 1 of 2 set days off per week should it be a preference.
Early morning or Evening work would be essential for our commercial contracts. This would mean working early morning or evening on 3x days per week to carry out these contracts.

The successful applicant must:
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Take pride in maintaining high cleaning standards
- Be reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Have a strong work ethic and be able to work efficiently
- Be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Be flexible with working hours
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle
Previous professional cleaning experience would be beneficial, particularly within holiday accommodation, hospitality or commercial cleaning, although not essential, but the right attitude and high standards are equally important. Full training will be provided.
Pay & Benefits... (Employed Role)
- £14.00 per hour during an initial 3-month trial period
- Increase to £15.00 per hour following successful completion of the trial period
- Additional £1.50 per hour for weekend work
- Bank Holidays paid at Time and a half
- All work-related mileage paid
- All cleaning equipment and products supplied
- Minimum 25 guaranteed hours per week

SELF EMPLOYED OPTION - Depending on Candidates preference, we can offer a Self employed role if this would suit better, benefits would differ, but can be discussed at interview stage.
