Just a little look at our week at Marvel Maids 💙🧹

It’s been a slightly quieter week for us while we’re covering holidays, but we’ve still managed to complete 99 jobs across the week! 🙌

We’ve welcomed new clients, completed first cleans, tackled plenty of washing and ironing, and the girls have been sending me some brilliant before & afters along the way ✨

Behind the scenes I’ve also started our team 1-to-1s, giving everyone a bit of time to catch up and make sure they’re happy with how everything’s going.

Sometimes the quieter weeks are actually quite nice… although I’m not sure 99 jobs really counts as quiet 😂

A year ago, Niftie was just an idea. Today, it’s live.

If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be launching my own software, I wouldn’t have believed you.

I’m not a software developer. I’m a cleaning business owner.

Every feature in Niftie started with a real problem I faced while running my own business. I knew there had to be a better way, so I took that idea to an incredible team of developers, and together we’ve spent the last year turning it into reality.

It hasn’t been a straight line. We’ve redesigned, rebuilt, tested, changed direction and invested far more than we ever expected because we wanted to create something we’re genuinely proud of.

Today, Niftie is officially live.

To everyone who’s supported me, tested the app, given feedback, or simply encouraged me when I questioned whether we’d ever get here—thank you.

This isn’t the finish line. It’s just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us. 💜

Does technology lose the personal touch?

We don’t think so. 💕

When I started this business 10 years ago, my goal was simple: help people and provide a cleaning service that felt personal.

As we’ve grown, staying on top of every message, every booking, and every client became harder. I found myself missing messages, replying late, and feeling like I wasn’t giving people the service they deserved.

That’s exactly why I built our app.

Not to replace people—but to help us stay connected.

Now our clients can see who’s coming, message us easily, receive updates, and have everything they need in one place. Our team is more organised, our communication is better, and most importantly, we can spend more time focusing on what really matters: our clients.

Technology hasn’t taken away the personal touch.

It’s helped us deliver it even better. 💕

As a cleaning business owner, I wear many hats.

One minute I’m in the office managing schedules, speaking to clients and keeping everything running. The next, we’re a little short-staffed and I’m more than happy to get back on the tools with the team.

This week has definitely tested us… 🥵
☀️ A mega heatwave
🤒 Staff sickness
🧹 Henry Hoover deciding he’d had enough
📅 Plans changing at the last minute

But that’s business. You adapt, you keep smiling and you get on with it.

One positive this week was getting to spend the day working alongside the amazing Chelsea, my Team Leader. 💙 Having people like her on the team makes even the toughest days that little bit easier.

The glamorous side of running a cleaning business… 😂

After spending the last few weeks back out cleaning and covering holidays and sickness, I’ve worked 40+ hour weeks and somehow still haven’t managed to get on top of the washing at home!

So today’s office attire is a Blue Reef Festival t-shirt from my father-in-law’s festival while I sit on the sofa catching up on scheduling, invoicing and admin.

I’ve already had two staff meetings this morning and this is actually my first proper day off in a while.

Running a business isn’t always fancy offices and coffee meetings. Sometimes it’s working from the sofa, surrounded by jobs that still need doing.

Also, this is my first selfie in a long time because taking photos of myself really doesn’t come naturally 🙈
