THE CIRCUS IS COMING TO TOWN.

🚐A1980 Asquith Replica Circus Support Vehicle – Multi-Stage Deep Clean & Protection 💙✨

I had the pleasure of tackling this rare Asquith, used for charity work across the Southeast.
It hadn’t seen a proper clean in years — the roof was completely caked in algae, moss, and grime 🌿💦, and every panel was sun-bleached from glossy navy to dull navy.

What did I do:
Multi-stage deep clean – roof to wheels, removing decades of build-up with various chemicals ,wash mitts, detail brushes, and a lot of patience 🧽⏳

Fiberglass care & stain removal – I addressed surface stains on a nearly 50-year-old body 🖌️✨
Rubber & trim assessment – some components had perished, but surfaces were refreshed ⚠️
Iron fallout removal – This turned the body purple temporarily! 💜 (wish I’d snapped a pic)
Sealant protection – to preserve the finish and keep it looking its best 🛡️
After hours of careful work, this unusual beauty now looks revived and ready to continue its charity adventures. 💙

🚀 2016 McLaren – Full Valet & Paint Correction 🖤✨
Had the pleasure of transforming this stunning black McLaren two-seater for a local body shop. Several panels had been freshly resprayed, but after sitting outside post-paint, it had collected dust, pollen, leaves 🍃… basically the works!
What I did:
Exterior valet & paint correction – removed all debris, polished minor imperfections across multiple panels 🪄
Interior refresh – cabin restored to near-new condition 🧽💎
Minor paint rectification – sorted small blemishes the body shop hadn’t had time to finish 🖌️
At 6’2”, getting in and out was… a workout 😅. Duck, roll, repeat! But every bit worth it for this incredible result.
The client was over the moon 😍, and the car now looks absolutely flawless — for a 10-year-old supercar, it’s stunning. 🌟

Transforming Wokingham Council’s Electric Tricycles

I recently had the pleasure of working with Wokingham Council’s Journey Team on their electric tricycles.
These are fantastic vehicles, but unfortunately, they had been a little neglected.
This job was a bit different from the usual car detailing, and it was so much fun to bring them back to top condition!

I even had a passer-by ask if they were for hire – they really do turn heads. 😄

These tricycles are promotional vehicles for green transportation across the borough, and the client was thrilled with the transformation.

I couldn’t help thinking – I could have done with one of these when I was 15 for my car washing round!

A car interior left damp can quickly develop mould – and it’s not just unpleasant, it’s a health risk! 😬

In some cases ,the mould isn't just surface level.
It can be caused by underlying issues such as a damp headlining -Adding more water during cleaning could worsen the problem.
Failed headlining glue, causing sagging and dropping panels.
Long term neglect.
Where mould has been in the car for months there's only so much that can be realistically done without replacing parts.

Early action is crucial.
The longer the mould is left untreated the harder it is to fully restore.

BMW Nearside Scratch – Before & After 🔹
Before: Minor scratches and chipped edges on the passenger door. 😬
After: Machine polishing and a full valet reduced the scratches, smoothed the edges, and made the door look much cleaner. ✨
From a few feet away, the scratches are barely noticeable – and the client couldn’t be happier! 👏
Even without a full repaint, careful correction makes a real difference. 🚗💨

And now the warmer weather is almost here I'll be machine polishing once again.

I've been asked why I don't machine polish in the winter.

Easy.

When Valeting in the winter months you're moving to keep warm.
When you're polishing you're not moving, well not much, but you're just getting colder and colder.

Not for me I'm afraid.

Anyway after completing my two day Zvizzer UK course with UK Detailing Academy and "Geeky" Steven Marmy Mcmahon, back in October I've stocked up on some of their premier pads and compounds.

No.

I haven't bought the entirety of their range, but what I have bought should see me through for a while.

And already I've got machine polishing clients booked in for the end of April and into May.

Another training day with UK Detailing Academy
This time we concentrated on Protection and Coatings.

Rich and Ian, who are the trainers, really pushed us all day on the chemistry, physics ,technical aspects of coating, its history, application, tools, methods, health and safety and methodology.
When to ceramic coat and when not to ceramic coat, maintenance, product suppliers choices and the list went on and on.
Once again, at times it felt like being back at school in a chemistry lesson.
But this time I was fascinated by the subject.
The questions never stopped coming and comprehensive responses from both Rich and Ian were broken down into bite sized chunks and clear explanations regarding the whole process were explained.
We were given practical's on preperation and application.
We were also given an opportunity to deal with mistakes and how to correct them.

Once more an amazing day and I was absolutely buzzing at the end of the course all the way home.
