Sorry for the radio silence. With the school holidays, nursery transitions and a teenager leaving school 😱 things have been a bit overwhelming as change is something our household struggles with. But we are still here!

Today is a daisy dog walk day and how could you not love this wee face 😍😍

This was my happy space. Those of you who have met me, have me as your cleaner/dog walker will know all about these 3.

This was my life for years. 3 dogs and me. I’d be out walking at silly AM with 3 dogs and would never feel scared. I had a whippet who could be brave, a lab x who had a brain in there sometimes and that dough ball on the very bottom who is the most protective and loyal dog I’ve ever owned. I’ve never had a dog who would use his body to literally block you from people or other dogs.

I used to walk 18-22000 steps on a daily basis with these and think nothing of it. My memories are filled with “we got out, the heavens opened and I figured, we were wet we’d just be as well as keeping going”. I wore through maaaannnyy pairs of walking shoes over my years of ownership. But it was a drop in the ocean of how much I loved them and they loved me.

I miss the pea brained whippet (Ozzy) and the ever loving goof ball (Ziggy). I’m thankful still to have max here with me.

But I’m ever so thankful that you, my lovely dog walking clients let me share in loving your dogs. Even the clients who I come to clean for you, who allow me that bit of time to snuggle, love and spoil your pups. Know that you’re filling a part of my cup up by trusting me and allowing me into your homes and into your dogs loving pupper hearts. On the days where I feel sad that I’m no longer a dog owner of 3, the fact that I have such lovely dogs to love makes the sad days easier.

And because I love them all so much, I will, forever come with fully stocked pockets and a special treat for my favourite pups because they all deserve to be spoiled 🥰

Thought I’d share a (funny) story.

Once upon a time, I had the sweetest little souls for pets. Their names were Suri and Lunar (which meant sun and moon).

They were a spur of the moment decision that I made when my mum went on holiday without me (I was old enough to be left alone and adopt animals 😂) and I thought, their faces screamed at me to adopt them. I adopted them from SSPCA in Hamilton. I had never had ferrets before, everything but mind you. But still, I thought they were mine.

When I adopted them they were placed into a cardboard box with handles for you to take home. And as I was waiting for my ride home, I could hear scratching and nibbling. Before I knew it, there was a little head poking itself out. I remember reacting and placing my hand over it and shouting to my friend going “they are going to escape! I had no idea how good ferrets were at escaping! I had to go back in and purchase a plastic carrier in order for them to come home 😂

I went home to do a lot of research and when my mum came home she was not pleased… for about a week till they started to grow on her 😂

Suri and Lunar were what I’d call roasters. They loved to terrorise your feet, they actually used to love to run at my mum and get her feet then make chuckling noises 😂! They loved to clamber and snuggle but they loved nothing more than creating chaos. It was like having two toddlers. I think they were someone’s pets before I got them because they were very people oriented and would seek out company of people. If I was home, they were generally out! Their favourite things were anything that crinkled. It sent them into ferret zoomies 😂 I had them for many years and they provided endless company, chaotic moments and I have loads of funny stories. I had ferrets after them but nothing compared to them.

As an adult I look back and think it was reckless to adopt animals that I had no idea about really and I’d always recommend now to research an animal, their needs and if they can fit into your life but equally, it was the best thing I ever did. I still miss them all these years later!

This is me saying, if you think I’d be scared of any animals, I’ve been there, done that and got the t shirt. So long as you aren’t throwing a tarantula at me, I’m all good 😂

Not just for cleaning, caring for animals too is part of what makes maid to walk special 💜

Good morning. I am back to work after the “holiday” week. That really translates into squeezing as much fun kid activities into the week as we could which means, I’d like a holiday from my holiday but none the less. I am back at it this week. We rounded up the week with Zog! Live at the pavilion which was fab! And then blippi live 🫠😂 that is a one and done experience anyway!

I have sent out any remaining invoices, if anyone who hasn’t received it could check and let me know.

Appointments and new clients are all being sorted out and arranged this week. If anyone would like to be booked in, I’ll be a bit more on the ball this week with replying. Anyone who I need to catch up with and re arrange for being off last week, I’ll be messaging to sort that out too.

Hope you’ve all had a lovely week and haven’t missed me too much 😂💕

Hello!

Just dropping a little update, I am currently still on holiday and won’t be back till the 7th of July 🗓️

These next few days are allowing me to scale back and take my foot off the gas pedal. Maid To Walk has gained momentum that I genuinely was never expecting and it’s been thrilling but working my bum off none stop for over a year, has left me a bit of a melted puddle. I’m taking this time to spend time with my kiddo, my long suffering partner and go do things that we dont get time to do whilst work/nursery/life is spinning at the pace it is.

I am periodically checking/doing minimal admin here and there (someone’s gotta keep the Facebook algorithm monkey happy!) but my replies won’t be as quick as they usually would be. I have scheduled some posts to save myself some brain power 🤯

But until the 7th, I am recharging my batteries and my soul batteries. Normal service will resume then 🥰

P.s, here for you to enjoy is my photography experiment from today.

Hello! I've been quiet once again, I promise I haven't forgot about anyone! I have just once again, caught my Childs summer/nursery bug. What I had thought was just feeling run down as I head to my time off, was in fact, me being ill and unfortunately, when I get ill, I get *ill* so it's been very woe is me haha!

Which brings me nicely to this post. I have tried to remember to notify everyone as much as humanly possible but I am having some time off from the 29th of June till the 3rd of July. Unfortunately I am not jet setting off but I am spending time with my little one as I really miss her wee face and spending time with my long suffering other half. During this time, aside from emergencies, I wont be near my apps. I will schedule posts but I need some time to disconnect and focus on the little things. So please don't think I am ignoring you, whilst I am eternally grateful for every single person who books in with me, I am simply prioritising good times, good memories and recharging some very depleted batteries.

🧹 Business admin day = paperwork day! 🐾

I’ve spent some time reviewing and updating all of my booking forms, client information forms and Terms & Conditions.

As Maid to Walk grows, it’s important that I have clear policies in place that protect both my clients and my team, whilst making sure expectations are clear from the very beginning.

A lot of these updates simply reflect things I’ve learned along the way and questions that come up regularly, so it made sense to get everything written down properly rather than relying on conversations.

Running a business is a constant learning curve and I’m always looking at ways to improve the experience for everyone involved.

Thank you to all my lovely clients for your continued support (and for helping me realise all the things I forgot to put in writing the first time round 😂).

Hello!

Okay, a bit of an update. I am back to full capacity and unfortunately, I have to close my books. I don't have any space to squeeze anyone else in personally. I will of course leave a waiting list for myself should a spot open up on my books.

That being said! 👉I do however have availability for my other ladies!👈

Availability across the week for cleans both regular and one off.

Deep cleans are still available to book too!!

Sometimes when you're at your clients, you have the best views and also raging chickens that you have food and they don't - they are very well fed chickens...they are a big like dogs in the fact that they would have you convinced they are and never were fed 🤣 and yes, I did share my lunch with them...
