Cosy nights and crackling fires are a welcome comfort on colder evenings but it’s important to use them safely.

If your log burner or open fire is back in use, make sure your chimney has been swept and your appliance properly serviced to help reduce the risk of chimney fires.

Keep logs, coal and other fuels stored well away from the heat, and always use a spark guard to stop embers escaping.

If you've not called or dropped me a message (07400080390) get your chimney(s) swept this year the diary is filling up fast so don't leave it too late. I've a new booking system this year so moving forward you'll all get booked in for the following year when I visit to save having to worry about it next year.
