Hi All. Well, tomorrow is my last day, which rolled around surprisingly quickly.

It's been so strange saying goodbye to people, knowing I won't be going back ever again.

I've received so many lovely cards, flowers, chocolates, gift vouchers, tea (I LOVE TEA!) and well wishes. Thank you all.

I am guessing that those of you who asked me what I'd be doing next learned a new word - ephemera ;) I will be selling vintage papers, books, scrap booking items, stickers, alongside a range of upcycled clothing (slow fashion!), accessories and any other bits and pieces that can be salvaged and made into something pretty and/or functional.

My business is called The Tattered Breeze - I have a shelf in the pop up shop with VSMS Markets & Events (located in Swan Walk opposite Sports Direct), hoping to add my upcycled clothing there very soon as well, and I will be at various markets in the local area.

Back to Horsham Ironing Service.....The website has already been deactivated, and the phone and this page will be closed from Thursday 6th April in the evening. In the unlikely event that somebody needs me with a query, please message me via The Tattered Breeze.

Lastly, it would be super helpful if everyone who is outstanding on paying their invoices could please do so no later than Wed 5th April 6pm. It is the end of the financial year and we'd (well, hubby, who does the books!) like to close it all off neatly tomorrow evening.

Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting me - 19 years running a successful business is no mean feat, getting through covid/lockdowns, recessions and more. Some of you have been with me since Day One!

Ladies and Gents! There is no need to panic book🤣. The last two days have been unreal, with tons of extra slots being booked and double, if not quadruple the normal amounts of ironing coming through!

I am happy to book any extra slots that anybody would like, even if you're on a set slot, I can fit another in for people.

Everything is a bit chaotic right now, and there is still 3 weeks to go...A reminder also that if you're looking to replace me then you need to be pro-active and book with someone else as I've heard 3 of the recommendations are almost at max capacity.

Anyway, just a heads up that I do still have some spaces left in the 3 weeks remaining to accommodate extra slots wanted, but I am NOT taking on any new customers - have had 3 calls today from newbies, and have absolutely no idea where they have found my details from as the website is no longer live and the van is stark naked, the only place that H.I.S exists online is this page ;)

EDIT - There are a few ironing services that have messaged me to say they have spaces. One lady has commented on this post. I have also spoken with Pink Lady and she has capacity for new customers. There are others that have commented on my public post on the group "Horsham Recommends" so hopefully everyone can find a replacement!

Hi All.

I have an announcement....I will be ironing my last shirt on the 5th April 2023.

After 19 years of owning and running Horsham Ironing Service I am shutting up shop. Things have been harder the last couple of years, but the last 6 months harder still.

The ironing is the easy bit! I am working 7 days a week, booking appointments, driving, ordering, invoicing, chasing people up....And I have no work/life balance.

Nothing changes if nothing changes, so I am going to a new venture - my ephemera business, which brings me joy.

I want to thank every single one of you for your support over the years, I've met some lovely people and have even made friends that I see outside of ironing ;) Some of you have been with me since virtually day one and I will be sad to not see you :(

On a practical note, anybody that is on a monthly slot I am due tonight/tomorrow to you all but the next slot falls after 5th April - I am clearing space to do all monthly ones on Saturday 1st April if needed, and I know there are some shift workers that are ad hoc, you're all free to book in with me before closing up for the last time.

I will be putting notes in everyone's bags, hopefully that will cover all people.

I hope you will all understand why I'm doing this, and once more, thank you so much for all your support.

Supporting small business - hubby and I popped over to Zeytin Horsham's new café in Nightingale Road very early this morning.

Amazing! Coffee is gorgeous and hubby had a breakfast baguette which was delicious.

The Cafe can be found next door to the Beefeater/Premier Inn opposite the railway station.

There's a whopping 30% discount for students and an extensive menu.

Instead of supporting giant corporations, buy local and support small business, you won't be disappointed!

Hi All, I seem to frequently forget to update this page!

I have had a lot of new enquiries again recently but still do not have any extra spaces available at this time.

I've just purchased yet another garment cover roll, the price of which has rocketed again. I have no plans to increase my prices any time soon but would ask that everybody could please remove the garment covers carefully from your hanging items and keep them safe and intact for your next lot. Not only does this keep cost down but it is far better for the environment to reuse!

I'd also like to remind people that my terms of service include payment to be made within 48 hours of your ironing being returned. I am having to spend my evenings and weekends chasing payments which I am not a fan of.

Lastly, the new business phone is not connected to e-mails. I can only access any mails via my PC which is a bad thing considering I rarely check mails! Please could those who generally e-mail me now switch to texts or calls, to guarantee I will see your request/query.

Hi Folks! It's been a while ;) I am finally all finished for the next 3 days....yup, I messed up and didn't realise Boxing is not actually on Sunday 🤣 So, I find myself scheduled to be working on Boxing Day, albeit only a handful of people as lots of you are away.

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support over this last year. Never underestimate the impact you have on using a small family business, you are all appreciated!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Christmas and a safe, healthy and happy New Year.
