Working on a rooftop in a location in central London keeping feral pigeons and seagulls away from roosting and nesting.

This is Winnie a young Harris Hawk, she does her job very well, pest birds really don't like her presence and quickly move on.

BIRDS OF PREY SERVICES

This service uses hawks and /or falcons to deter nuisance birds. A bird of prey is a natural threat to pigeons and gulls, so their presence will deter nuisance birds from your location. This natural instinct to avoid predators is used in our bird management programmes to change the patterns of behaviour in the targeted species.

Nuisance birds often have a habituated behaviour in an area that puts them into conflict, whether that be roosting, feeding, or nesting etc. We use their natural instinct to avoid predatory birds to change these patterns of behaviour, by implementing a programme of intensive visits flying our birds of prey that force them to change their habits. Then, when these habits have changed, visits are reduced but a presence maintained as part of a managed programme to prevent the nuisance birds from coming back.
