Since our inception we have experienced at least one non-committed or no show booking on a weekly basis, at times daily.
This means people have enquired availability and prices, requested a specific day and time for a valeting service, or confirmed the booking, and either not been home, or failed to respond to messages.
This has resulted in a substantial loss of income, which we have absorbed so far causing financial hardships to ourselves.
Mr MJM works 3 jobs and has at times taken days off, with a loss of pay, to accommodate customers who have not had the courtesy to respond, or advise that they have gone elsewhere, or advise the service is no longer required.
We have also had to advise other potential customers that we were fully booked and lost this potential income (on a weekly basis) for people who do not value our time or respect us as people or our business.
We have strived to offer a reliable, high quality, and affordable service to the local community. Offering loyalty reward schemes to help reduce the financial impact of having a valeting service.
We have held back on upgrading our equipment, having a website, and price increases, to keep costs as low as possible and not pass these onto customers.
We have gone out of our way to accommodate customers requests to avoid letting anyone down, because providing a great service and building a base of loyal customers meant everything to us as a small family business.
We also have non-payment to contend with, which has now become such an issue that we can no longer tolerate it, or financially cope with it.
We have continued to improve our services and have been providing premium chemicals and treatments at no additional cost to customers. Treatments that preserve the longevity of the valet, again to reduce costs and provide value for money for customers. Something no other business would be prepared to do.
We have saw over recent years that the customer base we painstakingly built by doing all these things unfortunately no longer use our services and the loyalty is not reciprocated.
In response we will now be operating as other businesses do in order to stop running at a loss.
MJM Professional Car Valeting are providing this notice to all customers, and prospective customers, that from this day forward all bookings are subject to a Β£20 deposit, paid in advance of the valeting service.
The deposit can be paid by bank transfer or cash. Bookings are not confirmed until payment and receipt of payment has been made.
The deposit is nonrefundable and non transferable and will be deducted from the final cost of the service, leaving a remaining balance owed. The remaining balance is to be paid by cash or bank transfer.
Invoices and receipts can be provided on request.
We are giving notice that our prices and services will be restructured, with a price increase being implemented in January 2025.
Once our remaining stock of loyalty cards have been distributed and redeemed we will no longer be providing a loyalty reward scheme.
Non-payment will be pursued through HM civil courts and tribunal services, or we will sell the debt to a debt collection agency.
