🎥 is less than a minute long,
Got a mucky sofa?🛋️
When it comes to cleaning upholstery, the work is intricate and can be challenging at times.
This client rescued dogs, and they used the upholstery as a bed.
Over time, the pet odour penetrated the fabric, and the sweat changed its colour.
When we visited to survey the upholstery, the odour was really strong.
We arranged a date to complete the work.
Upon arrival, the client went out and left us to it.
I knew I would have to play around with the chemicals. Increasing the dosage and adding boosters.
We did test each solution we created in an inconspicuous area.
Starting at the rear and working to the sides was easy.
It was the main body of the furniture that would take a little persuasion.
Liberally applied our chemical application, agitated it by using a drill brush, and allowed it to dwell for a few minutes.
Water pressure was set to 200 psi, with the water temperature set to deliver steam.
The advantages of this level of heat help neutralise the odours, but also break down the dirt and stains.
An acid was added to the freshwater tank that will neutralise the alkaline pH level.
In the collection tank of the machine were a few capfuls of the de-foamer.
So we had a three-seater and two seated to work on.
The hand tool we use has a window in it.
So when we start seeing clean recovery water, we move on to the next section until the whole sofa is completed.
Now for the test.
A clean white towel is wiped over each section.
This will tell us if any dirt still remains.
If it does, that section is recleaned.
As the level of odour was so high, and the padding was not accessible, we had to inject the cushions and headrests with an odour-eating solution.
We now place an air mover to speed up the drying.
By the time the two-seater was completed, this three-seater was bone dry.
In total, we were on site for around 2.5 hours.
