Protecting People and Property – One Spike at a Time!

Wiltshire Pest Services recently completed a bird control job for a busy builder’s yard, installing bird spikes on high-mounted floodlights.

While birds weren’t nesting, they were loafing on the lights—creating a serious mess below, as seen in the second image. This build-up of droppings posed a slip hazard and disease risk for staff and customers and risked damaging/contamination of materials stored below.

The spikes were installed safely using a cherry picker, ensuring the lights remain bird-free and the area below stays clean and safe.

A simple, humane solution that makes a big difference!

Swarm duty with our youngest recruit!
Say hello to Annie — rocking her brand new pink bee suit on her first ever swarm collection!

Annie’s parents kindly let us keep our bees in their beautiful paddock, and she’s been eager to learn all about them. So we gifted her a suit of her own — and today she absolutely nailed it helping us out.

Do you know what a bumble bee looks like?
If your not sure take a look, and if you see them there is no need to panick, they will move on in around the end of August, and they are a not as aggessive as wasps.

If you have any concerns over bumble bees feel free to call us, we won’t kill them, but we can give advice and if they are really in the wrong place due to building work that can’t wait we can sometimes relocate them as a last resort.

Bumblebees are social creatures who have a fascinating lifecycle. They live in a nest ruled by a queen who is helped by smaller female (worker) bumblebees.

Another successful honey bee rescue in Warminster, Wiltshire!

Our team was called in for a specialist job — a full colony removal and rehoming. The queen was safely located and captured, allowing us to carefully remove the entire colony along with the comb and honey.

At Wiltshire Pest Services, we’re committed to protecting pollinators while keeping your property safe. This was a delicate operation, but a rewarding one!
