Jackdaws build their nests in trees, bushes and chimneys! We can remove nests from flues after the birds have vacated, like this moist composted one that was left to cause damp problems in bedrooms! We can stop the birds returning (as they do annually) by fitting the appropriate cowl/terminal/cap to the top of your flue. I’m off to do some gardening 👩‍🌾
