As a business we are exempt from the restrictions of south east water & can continue working as normal.
We carry water on board & as well as our own power supply to make us fully mobile
The heatwave is hitting the South East hard, and our water treatment works are running flat out at maximum capacity. Because water is being drained from our drinking water storage tanks faster than they can be refilled, a temporary hosepipe ban will be enforced in Kent from 3 July. We’re asking you to get ahead of it now and stop using them immediately, to help us protect local water supplies.
We want to address the elephant in the room. It’s incredibly frustrating when you’re asked to turn off your hose when you hear about millions of litres being lost to leaks every day. You’re right to call it out. We’ve spoken many times recently about our teams on the ground fixing these every day. We’re proud that we’ve reduced the number of leaks in the last year and we’ll continue to reduce them going forward.
This isn’t about lawns or us wanting to restrict anyone. It’s purely about capacity. If the storage tanks drop too low, homes will lose pressure or go off-supply entirely. So we have to protect the essentials first: drinking, cooking and hygiene.
If you’re already conserving water and not using your hose, we’re incredibly grateful and encourage you to keep doing what you’re doing. If not, please think about the impact your usage has and put the hose away.
