So… guess who's going first class?

Right, I have to share this because I am absolutely buzzing and honestly, I need someone to celebrate with me

So tomorrow I'm heading up to Harrogate on a business trip - train from Kings Cross, lovely little trip, very excited - networking on a different scale

Now, I'd done the sensible thing and booked my return ticket in advance - £62. Perfectly reasonable. Job done.

Then someone tells me about this app where you can bid to upgrade your ticket to first class. I'm nosy, so obviously I had a look. The same train in first class? £365 THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE POUNDS. I mean… I love myself, but not quite that much

But here's where it gets good. I put in a cheeky little bid for an upgrade - and within what felt like seconds, I got offered one for £36. Thirty. Six. Pounds.
Reader, I clicked yes so fast I nearly broke my phone!

So now I am the very proud owner of a first class ticket to Harrogate and access to the first class lounge at Kings Cross.

Honestly, life is good. Actually, life is great

Now I just need to survive the packing – which is my least favourite part of any trip. I will procrastinate, I will throw things around the room, and I will somehow end up doing it at 11pm tonight. Some things never change

Well, what a week that's been!

I've had the absolute pleasure of attending some brilliant events hosted by the West Herts Chamber of Commerce - great learning, fab networking, and some genuinely interesting people. (Yes, I talked about cleaning. A lot. No apologies)

Back at the desk today, though - staring down what I can only describe as an avalanche of emails and messages. The price you pay for actually getting out there!

Meanwhile, the team have been absolutely smashing it. Enquiries flying in for one-off deep cleans, carpet cleans and oven cleans - and honestly? There's nothing we love more than transforming a home that needs a little TLC back into something you actually want to come home to

We also work alongside the brilliant Neil at 7 Contract Cleaning for all things carpet and upholstery - and I genuinely mean this - what that man doesn't know about professional carpet care isn't worth knowing. I wouldn't trust our clients' precious carpets with anyone else

And just like that... we're halfway through June! It'll be tinsel and mince pies before we know it (don't panic, just saying)

So, yesterday was a bit of a day...

Busy doesn't quite cover it - I was out meeting new clients, doing walkthroughs with a couple of Airbnb owners (gorgeous properties, honestly stunning settings - I nearly forgot I was there to work 😂), and in between all of that... I turned up to one meeting a full 48 hours early

Yep. 48 hours. Not 10 minutes. Not an hour. Two whole days!

When you're passionate about what you do, sometimes your enthusiasm just runs a little ahead of schedule. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

But honestly? Days like yesterday are exactly why I love this job. Getting to see beautiful homes, meeting lovely people, and talking about how we can take the stress of keeping those spaces spotless completely off their plate - it genuinely doesn't feel like work

Today though? Today is firmly an admin day here at MH HQ - and with the weather looking a bit grey and uninspiring outside, I'm actually totally fine with that. Tea, to-do list, inbox. Let's go.

Now - before I forget! We still have a couple of Spring Cleaning slots left for next week, but after that I'm closing those bookings as we're heading into Summer territory

The good news? We'll absolutely still be taking bookings for deep cleans, oven cleans, and carpet cleans - because let's be honest, Summer means long evenings, people round, BBQs, and all the lovely mess that comes with it. Now's the perfect time to get ahead of it all

Okay, I'll be honest, it's been a while since you've heard from us and I owe you a proper update!

Life at My Housekeeper HQ has been... busy – very busy! The good kind of busy

We've been growing! We've welcomed two brilliant new team members to the family (yes, I said family, because that's exactly what we are). They're absolute stars and you are going to love them. We're still putting them through their paces with training, but honestly? They've already hit the ground running.

Speaking of training, we've got a brand new service launching in just a few weeks that we genuinely cannot wait to tell you about. It's going to be a good one. Watch this space!

In the meantime, the oven cleaning diary is looking seriously full (shoutout to everyone who's already booked in your ovens - thank you), and the Spring Cleaning packages have had us dashing from one gorgeous home to the next. The team are absolutely buzzing. No time to stop!

Right, I wasn't going to post about last night but honestly? I can't not. 😄

So there I am, fizz in hand, sun still shining at what felt like the perfect temperature,, surrounded by lovely people, brilliant food, and conversations that made me genuinely laugh out loud. Oh, and a concert that gave me goosebumps - thank you Choir On The Green

The whole evening was in aid of the Hospice of St Francis — and I'm so grateful to them for the invitation. A significant amount was raised on the night, which is the most important thing of all.

Now — what's this got to do with cleaning, I hear you ask? (Bear with me, I promise this is going somewhere.)

Nights like last night remind me why I do what I do. Because when life gives you these gorgeous moments — the impromptu evenings, the last-minute plans, the "we're having people over in an hour" panic — the last thing you want is to be stressing about your home.

Okay, so I've got some news and I'm absolutely buzzing to share it with you all! 🥳

Carpet cleaning: the most satisfying reset 🌿✨

There's something about spring that makes you want to reset everything, isn't there?

New season, brighter mornings, a tiny bit of motivation creeping in… and then the sunshine hits your living room and suddenly you can see dust you didn't even know existed. The sun is gorgeous, honestly — but she's also a bit of a snitch.
