You have probably seen numerous adverts on social media made by unscrupulous local carpet cleaning companies claiming to be able to kill the Coronavirus COVID-19.

⚠️PLEASE NOTE THIS IS SERIOUS MISINFORMATION.⚠️

COVID-19 is an enveloped virus, and at present there are NO KNOWN products certified to break that envelope. A professional cleaning company or chemical supplier/manufacturer should NEVER make this guarantee.

Regardless of what chemicals may be able to destroy the Coronavirus, we are not aware of a product that will kill the new strain COVID-19 that has the legal backing. Scientific tests on COVID-19 are no doubt underway but are in the very early stages of testing.

Please don’t be misled by claims that cannot be backed up scientifically. THESE CLEANING COMPANIES ARE JUST OUT TO PROFIT FROM THE PANIC. They will not have completed the relevant infection control & prevention training courses, will unlawfully not carry safety data sheets for the outdated chemicals they use and most certainly will not be able to provide technical data for the test results to back up their claims.

We are NHS approved contractors and our staff are trained for decontamination, we are not all of a sudden 'experts', we genuinely understand infection control. These are tough times but we feel being honest will assist us for the future.

We can only recommend to follow official guidelines from GOV.UK and nhs.uk. We are also following the technical cleaning advice from The British Institute of Cleaning Science.

We are often asked how often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned and also many customers ask for advice on maintaining their carpets.

Carpet does, of course, need regular maintenance to keep it looking good and to retain its life expectancy.

The first thing you will need to do to maintain your carpet is vacuum frequently, the majority of manufacturers recommend carpets should be professional cleaned every 12-18 months depending on soiling levels as this will remove the deep-down soiling and contaminants that its fibres so efficiently trap which vacuuming alone cannot reach.

Never be tempted to try and clean your carpets yourself, however, as home cleaning methods are relatively ineffective and may lead to damage. We have just delivered some beautiful rugs back to their owner which included an antique hand knotted Bidjar and 2 x Kashan Persian rugs.
