💧 Every Drop Counts 💧
With many areas of the UK currently experiencing dry weather and temporary hosepipe restrictions, we all have a part to play in using water responsibly.
The good news? Looking after your hot tub properly can actually help you get the very best from your water, meaning fewer unnecessary water changes.
Here are a few simple ways to make your spa water last longer:
✅ Take a quick shower before you get in
Removing deodorant, fake tan, body lotions, makeup and cosmetics means less contamination enters the water, reducing the amount of chemicals needed to keep it balanced.
✅ Keep the cover on whenever the spa isn’t in use
This reduces evaporation, keeps debris out and helps maintain water quality.
✅ Lower the temperature slightly if you’re not using it every day
Dropping the temperature by just a couple of degrees when the spa is idle can reduce evaporation and save energy too.
✅ Rinse your filters regularly
A clean filter works more efficiently, helping your water stay cleaner for longer.
✅ Test little and often
Small chemical adjustments are much easier than trying to correct water that’s been neglected.
✅ Avoid washing towels and swimwear after every short soak if they’re still clean
A simple way to save even more water around your hot tub routine.
✅ If you use your spa daily, consider wearing a swimming cap
It helps keep hair products out of the water and may reduce how often you need to wash your hair.
🌿 None of these changes are huge on their own, but together they can help extend the life of your hot tub water, reduce chemical consumption, save energy and play a small part in conserving one of our most precious resources.
At Hot Tubs at Home, we’re passionate about helping you enjoy your spa responsibly. If you’re unsure whether your water really needs changing or you’d like advice on getting the most from it, just give us a call, we’re always happy to help.
Let’s all do our bit. 💙💦
