Never a boring day doing this job! Have to say, it’s my first yurt but hopefully not my last.
Got it serviced for Thetford Garden Centre, ready for a busy weekend.

Back in the museum again, definitely a job I look forward to each year.
This doesn’t get used very much but a build up of cobwebs with soot & dust can become a dangerous mix. This is a prime reason to have your chimney serviced annually, even when it isn’t frequently used.

Ever wondered how we keep soot out of the room when sweeping? 🤔

Through the use of an industrial hoover and foam inserts, and a torch to monitor it as we sweep.

We also add car air freshers to the vacuum air outlet to neutralise any odours coming out.

This really was a chimney fire waiting to happen! 🔥 🔥

Customer had taken on a new property and was experiencing a bad odour coming from the stove. Turns out, it hadn’t been swept for six years.
Luckily, the majority of build up was swept out but the customer will be using an additive to the fuel to aid the break down of more creosote.

This only highlights the importance of servicing and maintenance. We’d recommend a yearly service/sweep at the very minimum.

Fun one today - sweep and CCTV inspection before the new stove goes in. I’ll be heading back next year to give it its first service.
