Another excellent July Installer of the Month entry, this time from Josh at Raptor Pest Control in Tewkesbury 👏🐦
Josh carried out a full integrated pest management service after bird mites were discovered inside the property. This included two residual insecticidal spray treatments, fumigation of the house and loft, and the careful removal of historic nesting material from the eaves.
Bird mites can enter homes after birds leave the nest and the hungry mites begin searching for another host. They may travel down exterior walls and enter through window frames, or move from nests in loft spaces through gaps in ceilings and walls.
The vacant starling and house sparrow nests were safely removed, and the access points were proofed to help prevent further nesting next year.
Josh then fitted Defender Thistle® Gutter Spikes to discourage birds from returning. These simply clip over the gutter edge, sitting centrally above it while allowing water to flow freely underneath. They can also be removed for annual gutter cleaning.
At only 62 mm high, Defender Thistle® Gutter is discreet and virtually invisible from ground level, while still working hard to keep pest birds away.
