It’s been ten years this very morning since I swapped a dreary nine to five for that of a business owner. Over the past decade i’ve inadvertently become a counsellor, a doctor, a children’s entertainer. a dog whisper, a lunch maker, a TV repair man, a personal shopper. I’m now semi knowledgeable in accounting, marketing, customer relations and retention. I’ve become a big fan of Sikhism. (The hospitality, welcome and consideration if you need to ask!) a good quality waterproof and doing at little as possible on a Sunday.
I’ve watched couples get married and family’s grow and I’ve watched family’s carry on through alsorts of grief. I’ve got to know hundred of people and these things come with the territory. It makes me appreciate how beautiful precious and short life is.
Even in all the rain and cold and getting filthy for what feels like forever I wouldn’t swap it for anything now. Being your own Boss is one of life’s greatest victories. I’d strongly recommend it.
I’d like to thank my wife for absolutely everything she’s done to help me. The list is ridiculously long most importantly the unconditional love, support and sandwiches. Jack for keeping me motivated to get out and earn by going through shoes and trousers at a ridiculous rate. I’ve missed pantomime’s and performances due to work and other school related things. I hope when he gets older he understands why and it wasn’t because I didn’t want to be there? Thanks to Dramas and STONLEY for all the help when I started. Finally a massive thank you to all my customers, all 539 of you, for everything. You’re all beautiful and I’d be homeless without you. It’s made the last ten years an absolute joy. Here’s to the next ten. X
