I'm starving

I'm sweating

It is time....

Wasps are on the scrounge for wood and paper, they're looking for insects and dead animals, they're building this year's dynasty!

2026 wasp season has begun

I just want to say thank you to everyone who tags me and my other page Ben Rhino Hunt for work. It's massively massively appreciated. It always will be.

I hate having to say this though, I am getting increased amounts of people emailing me, messages on WhatsApp and by text asking me how I do my work, what stuff I use and how to use it.

I will help anyone. But I'm not going to be helping that extent. I'm running a business to keep a roof over mine and my son's head.

I appreciate that money is right especially with fuel and food prices constantly going up, but that effects me too. My fuel bill currently for just my van is around £250 a month and that's before the wasps start.

So I will not be answering any messages from anyone who just want to know how I do my job. So they can do it DIY.

I made some progress yesterday sending off information about the new direction I am going in. I had a good conversation with one company who have me on board and will be sending my details to their associates.

What a day. 11 hours setting this site up.

Palletline in Birmingham is massive

180 rat boxes

40 mouse boxes

620 labels

6kg of bait.

220 m of tether wire

4 miles walking in circles.

And I have to do this again next week for their Coventry site!

It took me 5 hours just to label up!

Time for a Chinese!!

There is so much going on with Rhino Pest Management right now.

Over the last few years I've had various ideas to try out but for one reason or another they didn't happen or didn't work out.

I've spent a good long while figuring out what I want to do with my company, especially with having a knackered shoulder and some other up in the air health issues. They're nothing that are going to stop me working or prevent me doing what I am doing.

At the minute I am struggling with fatigue and struggling to wake up in the mornings, I'm hoping this month I will finally have some more answers and the doctors manage to do something more then "we will be in touch". It's that bad I've put on an official complaint about some stuff.

Anyway, I digress.

There is something I will be doing, it'll be starting this month once I have the insurance in place. I will be setting up a lot of meetings with various companies about my new service Vague I know) the hope is to increase my commercial portfolio in a massive way. This is a very specific role, it'll be very specific working with various departments together to get a singular result.

It's all pest related, it'll still be Rhino Pest Management but a more specialised area.

I'll still have all my contract work and still be offering domestic and be king of the wasp.

I need to keep pushing forward and pushing what I am doing.

Wasps are coming. Let war commence.

I had my first ever commercial contract in 2020 there were maybe 4 boxes outside and a few boxes inside to this

This is a 220 unit order for just one site, the second site mirrors this.

Silently in the shadows I'm pushing and pushing to be one of the biggest names in pest management in our area. Keeping my sights local.

Incredibly proud of myself for this. To see your hard work paying off and to see your name and logo on things is a great feeling.

I know I'm not the only person working hard, there are many more and they equally deserve praise and recognition.

Bit of a pain having it dumped at my front door but I've managed!!

I have another exciting meeting next week for potentially 2 more sites to take over in Ashby.

Absolutely flying through 2026.

Terms & Conditions.

I've spoken about this before but unfortunately I have to put an end to the way I am paid.

As of now the money owed in is horrific. Some customers think it's ok to ignore and not pay.

I provide a good service, I'm very competitively priced and never over charge or even charge for stuff not needed as some national companies push for extras that you just don't need. That's my choice and this is how I chose to run my company.

I never push for payment on the day of each visit or all up front which is quite common in this industry.

I take payments in cash, tap & go, bank transfer, PayPal I can even now do installments set up similar to a direct debit. There is no reason I should be asking for payment 6 months down the line. Ever.

I appreciate I'm not perfect and I miss sending invoices etc admin has become a bit of a pet hate and overwhelming with being so busy "on the tools" running a house with having my son's 4 or 5 times a week I'm either absolutely knackered and falling asleep or I have 1 day to my self (Saturday) where I need to do bits around the house or I go and have a social life.

I have 58 invoices to chase. Some are my fault and in that case there won't be any letters went out.

There are letters going out today to a lot of people and companies that collectively owe me thousands. I'm happy to settle the bill as it originally was. But going over the last working day of April I will be adding daily interest from the day the bill was due. Then when it goes to small claims the fees will also be added on.

I've now got new terms and conditions. These will be given out with each new job. They are also available on request. Even if I don't give the T&C's they still stand.

Bee enquiries are now coming in.

I'm already sick of the people who give really bad advice that know nothing about the situations, especially the ones who say "don't use pest control they just kill everything".

Here is a few facts, please share this if you want to.

1. Do not use wd40.
2. Do not block holes as bees and wasps will almost certainly find another way out and that could be into your home.
3. Don't give stupid advice out about pest control companies. I'm going to speak for me and my company. Control is a legal and viable option for all bees. That's a fact. I use Stuart White and Nigel Collier of temple bees to do my honey bee work. This includes cutouts and swarm removal. Very decent reputable men.
4. Is removal cheap? No. But neither would the aftermath be if someone tries to destroy an very established honey bee colony. How can 60g of powder kill 20,000 bees?
5. The moment you or anyone sprays a powder or insecticide near those bees they're automatically considered as hazardous. They instantly lose all monitery value to any reputable bee keeper. They simply will not remove them.
6.bees can travel around 4m to their hive, dusting 1 hole will not do.
7. If bees are treated then all viable entrances have to be sealed to stop robber bees entering and stealing the honey.
8. If robber bees get in and take the contaminated honey
Causing secondary hive death there is big troubles especially if it's a commercial hive.
9. If you're unsure about any form of pest control then speak to British Pest Control Association or National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) they're are two of the biggest governing bodies for pest control.

Rhinos final thoughts... Stop listening to people who have read a Google article from the BBC or spoken to some Noddy down the town. Sort it properly.

All wasps and bees are a public health risk, like it or not. And there is always a solution. Check your house insurance as more often than not bees are more and move covered.

Mason bees and other solitary bees should be left as they cause no problems.
