Ligustrum Helicopter Reform 🚁✂️🌿 18 years ago this topiary plant was gifted as a wedding present 💒 🎁 Although it may look healthy, it hadn’t been fed, trimmed or repotted for 18 years… ❌Taking my time, using small topiary shears I had to find the base shape again. This tree looks small but it was around 6 foot tall and over a meter wide. My customer requested a specific helicopter design which was a family memory to them. Currently it doesn’t look like much, however this has taken very well for a outgrown, but spars tree. Hopefully with new exposed areas to sunlight & added nutrients we can bring this helicopter to a compact and sharp shape. Very challenging project, but I’m glad my clients are pleased with the results ✅

A great example of shape correction! Believe it or not, these balls have suffered from catipillar damage and have been munched out of shape! I have trimmed and reformed a base sphere to promote this years growth to create round edges! 😍
