A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️

I wanted to hop on here quickly while I get a moment and share a massive thank you to all of my wonderful clients. This past week has been incredibly tough for us as I stepped away to care for my little girl. Seeing her so unwell has been heartbreaking, and truthfully, we aren’t quite out of the woods yet.

She is still on the mend, but I’m hopeful that in the next few days, we’ll start seeing that light at the end of the tunnel and things can get back to normal.

I also want to apologize for being so quiet on social media lately. My focus has been exactly where it needed to be, but I’m hoping this "radio silence" is short-lived!

To my clients: your kindness, patience, and supportive messages have meant the world to me during a very stressful time. I am so lucky to work with such empathetic people.

So today your Maid In Clare woke up feeling rather rough BUT! That didnt stop me from completing a 5 hour huge deep clean on my favorite type of home! A beautiful HUGE cottage in Stoke By Clare ❤️.

🧶 The "Top-Down" Cottage Dusting Secret
In a cottage, dust doesn't just sit on tables; it clings to rustic textures like wicker, stone, and wood beams. If you dust the furniture first, you’ll just be cleaning it again 10 minutes later when the ceiling dust falls!

🧹 The "Paintbrush" Technique
For those tricky cottage items like wicker baskets, carved wood bedposts, or stone mantels, a standard rag won't work.
The Tool: Use a 2-inch clean, soft-bristled paint brush.
The Move: Use the brush to flick dust out of deep crevices and grooves.
The Catch: Hold a vacuum hose (with the brush attachment) right next to your paintbrush to "catch" the dust as you knock it loose.
🌬️ The Static Trick for High Beams
If your cottage has high ceilings or exposed rafters:
Wrap a damp microfiber cloth around the end of a broom or extension pole.
Secure it with a rubber band.
The dampness creates a "static charge" that grabs the dust instead of just knocking it into the air and onto your clean rugs.

There is something so special about returning to a lovely home! Today was spent back at one of the cutest cottages —the sweetest little cottage for a lovely regular client. 🏡

It was my first visit back since before the Christmas holidays, and it felt so good to get those surfaces sparkling and the cottage feeling cozy again. There’s nothing quite like the charm of a cottage, especially when it’s freshly cleaned!

I’ve been a little quiet over the weekend while I switched fully into Mum, Wife, and Family mode. My poor little one was feeling under the weather yesterday, so it was all about the extra cuddles, rest, and recovery at our house. 🤒🧸
But a new day brings new energy! The "Mum-form" is officially swapping for the "Maid-form." I am back in Maid Mode today and ready to get those spaces sparkling again! ✨🧼

We officially made it to the finish line! If you see me leaning against my vacuum cleaner like it’s a marathon trophy, mind your business. It has been a week.

I absolutely love being The Maid in Clare—there is genuinely nothing better than that "big reveal" feeling when a home goes from chaotic to crystal clear. But let’s be real: by Friday afternoon, my "sparkle battery" is flashing red! 🪫

🏠 The Thursday and Friday Win

I did manage to end the week on a high note, though! I tackled some of my absolute favorite houses these last two days. You know the ones—where the vibes are just right, and seeing it shine brings me so much joy that I almost forget my feet are throbbing. It was the perfect "cherry on top" of a busy week.

🧘 Time to Trade the Mop for the Movie Night
As much as I adore my clients and the hustle, this girl is officially in need of some family and down time.

My weekend plans include:
Zero scrubbing.
Zero organizing (except maybe organizing the snacks).

Maximum quality time with my favorite people.
I’m hanging up the apron, putting the spray bottles back in the van, and heading into "Mom/Wife/Human Mode." The dust will still be there on Monday, but these moments with my family won't!

🧼 The "Shift Behind the Shift" 🧼

They say, "Choose a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life." They forgot to mention that if you’re a cleaner with kids, you’ll just work the same job twice in 24 hours! 😅
I spent all day making other people's homes look like a showroom—perfectly vacuumed lines, sparkling taps, and organized pillows. Then I walked through my own front door... and it looks like a glitter-covered tornado hit a laundry basket. 🌪️✨
The Clock-Out That Never Happens:
9:00 AM: Scrubbing baseboards and polishing mirrors. (Professional Mode 🧼)

3:30 PM: School run starts. The "manager" (my toddler) is demanding snacks immediately.

5:00 PM: Back to the kitchen—but this time I’m the chef, the waitress, and the person scrubbing pasta sauce off the walls. 🍝

7:00 PM: Bath time. It’s basically a localized flood. I’ve cleaned three bathrooms today, but somehow I’m the one getting soaked in this one. 🛁

8:30 PM: Bedtime. Finally! Now I just have to find the floor under all these toys so I can... you guessed it... clean it.

I love what I do, and I love my "tiny clients" even more, but if anyone needs me, I’ll be hiding in the pantry for five minutes of peace. (Don't worry, I've already dusted the shelves in here). 🥂
