We had a few days this week working on this stunning GB270 with a good friend, we helped fit new calipers, cleaned up the suspension and gave it a fresh coat of Dinitrol. All in all a really enjoyable few days 😃

What’s involved when ice blasting the underside of a car and why it’s just as important to clean the underside as it is the top.

Firstly we would remove all the undertrays and arch liners so we can get full access to those usually hidden areas.

It’s important to note that by removing the arch liners it usually reveals compacted mud around the sill/arch ends where regular pressure washing sends the mud and road dirt behind the arch liners and then over time it compacts and will eventually start to eat away, and in some occasions rot out the sill ends. By removing and clearing out these areas will help preserve your car.

Once the car is prepped we can start the ice blasting process, we usually start working under the wheel arches at the rear and then work our way down the car cleaning the floors and sills, it’s still amazes me how this process can transform the underside of a car.

The ice blasting process is only the first part of looking after the underside of your car. At Cheshire and Staffs ice blast we also assess what protection coatings are required and what you guys as the owners would like to see, clear coats or a black finish.
