ARE YOU A PEOPLE PLEASER? 🥹
Caring about other people it’s a lovely quality, it’s kind and it’s thoughtful, However, when you neglect your own needs and wants because you’re pleasing others it becomes unhealthy.
💡When you say yes when you want to say no
💡When you leave yourself with nothing so they can have something
💡When you go above and beyond for them but not yourself
. You start to feel frustrated, angry, resentful and it reinforces the narrative “I am not good enough, I don’t deserve it”
And the circle continues because when you do nice things for other people you get a burst of feel good hormones and it boosts your sense of self, momentarily but then it drops and you feel rubbish again.
Therapy can help you to look at your self worth and build it back up again so that you can still do things for others but without it being at the detriment of yourself.
