Rats have been living under this customers bath for years. The black stuff you can see is rat poo ! 💩 🐁

Some pictures from a recent rat job where rats have been visiting the loft space of this domestic property for several years.
A handful of other pest control companies have attended this property over the years and haven’t been able to successfully resolve the issue.
On my first visit I found a small hole that had been chewed through the plaster board, I also did an external survey of the property and found a hole under the tiles at the gable end of the property that had obvious smear marks around the hole that rats leave when they are using it to gain entry. I applied tracer dust around the hole internally in the loft space. On my second visit it was apparent that rats were entering the loft space via this hole! The holes have now been blocked of, long standing issue has now been resolved and no more night time noises for the property owner.

first mole job today for this winter, the wet and cold conditions isn’t deterring the moles from causing havoc on this customers lawn.

Rodents will take advantage of any entry point in to a home or business. They will take advantage of any holes or building defects in the most unlikely of places. Rodents will be looking for warmth, sanctuary and potential nest building sites now the temperature is dropping.

A recent call out to a job with a history of rat issues in the loft space. Upon inspection I could smell a foul drainage smell, I little bit of digging around under the insulation and I found the soil vent pipe hadn’t been connected to a roof vent tile. The rats were entering the loft space via the drains hence the smear mark around the soil pipe fitting. A ratwall one way vale installed in the drainage inspection chamber and a roofer booked to install a tile vent. Placing traps and rodenticides down isn’t always the answer, getting to the bottom of the issue and resolving it for good is the best solution.

Another busy week for us at gateway pest control. Setting up a new yearly contract to British retail consortium standards in the logistics park at Dp world. Lots of call outs to rodent jobs in domestic properties around Essex. The temperature is starting to drop now and rodents will be looking for a warmer environment to inhabit.

Another rat entry point in to this property. This time the rats chewed up through the plastic drain cover they then chewed through the wall vent gaining entry in to the property’s wall cavity! 🐀
