A selection of smaller bird jobs we’ve completed lately, all using a variety of products from First up is a first try out for us using the new chimney crowns to protect the top of chimney caps from roosting birds. Very easy to fit, and have proved to be very effective so far. Next up are two satellite dishes from neighbouring properties, which had both been suffering from interrupted signal issues and fouling build up below due to feral pigeons roosting on the mounting arms and brackets. We have solved these issues using a combination of thistle spikes and wide plastic spikes on both. Using the plastic items in this situation ensures not only that the birds are excluded, but also the spikes themselves won’t cause any signal interference issues. Aurora Environmental Solutions Ltd

It’s not all glitz and glamour in pest control! Today’s call out for a fly issue and ‘funny smell’ turned out to be a dead fox in the roof void. This unfortunate fox had managed to get inside the roof void, and likely couldn’t find a way out. More rooftop work recently, we were asked to provide a solution for a local hotel who have been receiving complaints from guests about the noise made by pigeons roosting above a particular room. To solve this, we’ve dived into the range supplied by and used a variety of spikes. The roof ridge and chimney flaunching are protected by curved ridge and wide steel spikes, but this job called for 316 marine grade due to the proximity to the coast. In addition, we’ve installed a chimney pot spike strap, and thistle gutter spikes to head off any potential migration to the gutters directly outside the room balcony. Part 1 of our recent bird proofing job. To complement the eaves protection, we’ve gone for double defence, and fitted the Thistle gutter spikes from along the front and back gutters of this property. Here’s one we prepared earlier. Another rooftop install of , this time we’ve used 8 of the chimney pot spikes, angled ridge spikes and the gull spikes on the flaunching, and removed the disused TV antennas, all to provide a preemptive solution against seagull activity in the area around our clients property, which has already seen other houses suffer with gulls setting up home on chimney stacks.
