Today I found myself under a bath 🛁

The customer had called due to a mouse in the bathroom which quickly ran back under the bath panel when she entered. An inspection of the property showed no external ingress points suggesting that the mouse was using wall cavities of neighbouring connected houses to access the floor joists and gain access to the bathroom.

I found the holes used by the mouse and sealed these up using 5mm mesh as well as some armour seal to prevent re-entry. Once finished I put some tracking dust down to monitor next week to ensure no further access has been made. 🐭

Another loft clearance conducted in this week for a customer who had an issue with rats gaining access and nesting.

Faeces and urine had ruined possessions, insulation and spare flooring/rugs. The customer had tried to poison the rats previously which did temporarily delay an increase in activity however unfortunately this was not sufficient.

The customer requested a full loft clearance, disinfection and external proofing to ensure further ingress was not possible.

A monitoring programme was conducted first to ensure activity had ceased, and then a full loft clearance and proofing programme was conducted. The area was also fully disinfected once works were complete. The area is now ready for fresh insulation to be laid in time for winter ☃️

More wasps! 🐝

This time they had nested behind some temporary boarding on a property in .

The customer was awaiting rendering to be finished but a nest from our little friends had delayed the works.

Speedy attendance and treatment enabled construction works to continue swiftly as you can see with the before and after photos😎

🐝 We are well and truly into wasp season!

Today I had the pleasure of dealing with a colony in Langdon-Hills on the front of this customers house.

It’s always wise to treat wasp nests early in the morning or later in the evening as the majority of foragers/workers will be inside, allowing treatment to reach a larger number of them.

However, if treated in the day, the nest is more active and returning workers may become aggressive due to the disturbance and are more likely to sting! 💥

Armed with a bulb duster and some newly acquired insecticidal dust this nest was swiftly treated leaving another happy customer 🐝

Loft Clearance! 🏠

Today was spent conducting a clearance of insulation from a customers loft in

The residents had a previous issue of rats which had nested throughout their loft and needed a clearance and disinfection conducted.

Soiled insulation is generally filled with urine, faeces and nesting material which can generate a foul smell and leave unsanitary conditions to store your possessions.

All insulation and droppings were removed and a whole loft disinfection has been conducted, leaving the residents a clean area to relay new insulation once monitoring has been carried out to ensure no new ingress has been made.

Tracking dust is used to check for any fresh footprints, indicating access is still possible, however I don’t think any rats will find their way in after we’ve been in today 😎🐀

🐿️ Squirrels be gone!

Some minor proofing works complete to prevent squirrels getting back into this customers loft in !

Old nesting material was also removed from the loft and a disinfection was conducted to ensure the residents had a clean space for all those Christmas decorations 🎅
