That awkward time of year is approaching when you realise Christmas is coming... maybe too fast! 🎅

I'm starting to think that restaurants, hotels, and maybe even schools need to stop asking, "Is it too early?" and start asking, "Do we have enough tiny plastic combs and novelty screwdrivers for the Christmas crackers?"

I can already see the morning meeting:

🤔 Hotel Manager: "Okay team, we're all agreed on the festive menus and the reindeer ice sculpture?"
🧑‍🍳 Sous Chef: "Check."
🧐 Head of Procurement: "... But do we have the crucial, non-negotiable supply of miniature playing cards that no one ever uses?"

The sheer logistics of securing those essential, yet utterly useless, cracker gifts is a supply chain challenge the world isn't ready for.

So, to all the hospitality and education professionals out there: Get those cracker orders in! Your guests and students need to know if they'll be wearing a paper crown by December 1st or if you're holding out until the 25th.

More Than Just Selling: How We Help Our Clients 💁

Some people assume that if your title is "Account Manager" or "Business Development," all you want to do is sell something. But what does "selling" really mean to us?

Our team takes a different approach. We start by asking questions 🤔

What's working well for you? What challenges are you facing? How do these impact your business? Are you actively looking for a solution? Once we have a clear understanding of your needs, we either provide a solution ourselves or help you find the right one. 💡

A Real-World Example: Saving on Cleaning Products

Let's look at a recent example. We were reviewing a client's monthly spend on cleaning chemicals and noticed they were using a disproportionately high volume of products. When we asked why they were ordering two different types of wash aid, we got a common response: "We've always done it this way."

This was a perfect opportunity for some knowledge sharing. 🧠

Wash aid is another term for dishwash detergent – both clean dishes. Rinse aid, however, is a separate product used to rinse off the detergent and leave crockery shiny and dry.

If you're having trouble removing tannin (stains) from cups and other tableware, several factors could be at play:

- Your machine might need descaling and cleaning. 🧼
- The water temperature might not be hot enough. 🌡️
- The ratio of chemicals to water may need adjusting. 🧪 VS 🫧

While a wash aid with high tannin removal can help, addressing these underlying factors is crucial for optimal machine performance and results.

The outcome for our client? Approximately £85 (15%) in savings on kitchen cleaning products alone, and the potential for an auto-dosing trial.
