🚛 Are you 100% sure the person collecting your waste isn’t fly tipping it?
It’s a question more people should be asking.!!!!
We all love a bargain, but if someone is offering to take your waste away for £100 a load, ask yourself how they’re making any money.
Waste disposal isn’t getting cheaper. Disposal costs have increased, regulations are getting tighter and more sites are being shut down because they’re not operating legally.
That leaves us legitimate waste companies paying more to dispose of waste correctly while the cowboys continue to undercut everyone.
The Environment Agency’s recent Operation Unite inspected 42 waste sites, leading to 17 permits being suspended or revoked and over 30 criminal investigations🕵️
What a huge reminder that waste crime is still a massive issue across the UK!!!
So before you hand your waste over, do these quick checks: (and don’t be afraid)
✅ Ask for their Waste Carrier Licence number.
✅ Check they’re registered with the Environment Agency.
✅ Make sure you receive a Waste Transfer Note or Consignment Note where required.
✅ Don’t be afraid to ask where your waste is going.
✅ If the price seems too good to be true… it probably is.
At DAS Kent we do things properly.
✔️ Fully licensed.
✔️ Fully insured.
✔️ Every load is documented.
✔️ We recycle wherever possible.
✔️ We dispose of everything legally and responsibly.
It might not always make us the cheapest…
But it means our customers can sleep at night knowing their waste isn’t ending up in a country lane or an industrial estate fly tipped somewhere!!!
Just by asking these basic questions can stop you getting a massive fine once your waste leaves your property.
🚫 Fly-tipping isn’t just an eyesore – it puts lives at risk.
The impact goes far beyond rubbish
