Hi there, Anne and I want to express our thanks for the work you did yesterday on the bedroom carpet. It turned out better than hoped, which is an extra bonus and no doubt due to your diligence and expertise.

Thank you and kind regards,

But there are companies out there who will try to operate on the back of the NCCA by using expressions such as trained by the NCCA or NCCA qualified. These companies are not members of the NCCA but will try to make out they are.

This morning (19/05/2020) The National Carpet Cleaners Association (NCCA) put on a Webinar to help their members to get back to cleaning carpets and upholstery as and when we are told it is safe to do so.

These are the practical steps that we will take when working in customers homes and business premises:

• On the day of the work, call ahead to your customer to ask if they or any occupants have signs of the virus, have been diagnosed, or are self-isolating, and to check that they are comfortable with your visit to take place
• Explain to your customers what you will be doing, and why, and that you will need to maintain a safe distance from them (2m is current Government advice), including when waiting for the customer to open the door.
• Do not shake hands with the customer or other occupants.
• Ask if the occupants can stay in another room, away from the work area(s) whilst the work proceeds, and with permission ventilate the work area where appropriate, e.g. by opening a window
• Wash your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds, at the start of the job and after (also during the work). It is recommended to carry your own hand-towel with your equipment. Wash/replace hand-towel at end of each day/shift
• Use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
• Wear suitable work gloves
• If you feel unsafe or at risk at any point, undertake a personal risk assessment and leave the premises if necessary. You can re-plan for a future date if appropriate, after ensuring everything is made safe.

Upon Job completion:

• Wipe down any operational rubber gloves, tools and instruments used within the premises.
• Remove and place into a plastic bag any wipes, disposable gloves and overalls used, whilst trying not to cross-contaminate onto existing clothes or persons.
• Do not touch your face.
• Ensure you then clean/wash your hands, and where possible/appropriate any reusable PPE (e.g. safety glasses), using soap and water, or use suitable hand sanitizer on hands before moving to your next job.
• Clean through your machine, hoses, wands, hand tools with a suitable sanitiser after every job, wipe down agitation equipment, vacuum’s, brooms etc with a suitable sanitiser. This is a must. Along with removing your PPE safely without cross contamination and dispose of it correctly.
• At the end of each day and following the appropriate local waste regulations dispose of any bagged waste in line with any existing business process and/or Government guidance
• You are a tradesperson carrying out essential repairs and maintenance in people’s homes. You can continue work, providing that you are well and have no symptoms. You should notify all clients in advance of your arrival.

No cleaning will be carried out in any household which is isolating or where an individual is being shielded.

No work will be carried out by anyone in our business who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild.

Hi I hope you and your family are safe and well. This is Ray & Jackie Austin here and daughters.
Apparently, as people have been doing general cleaning, they have been moving their rugs and realised how bad they smell, or how grubby they looked.
We are able to use our workshop in Pontesbury so that we can still effectively clean your rugs AND social distance as a team, so everyone here is safe. As we don't need to come fully into your home when we collect and return your rugs it's easy to maintain social distancing there too. We've had great feedback from those clients who called, so I thought I'd offer it to everyone we know, with the same special offer of free virucide treatment included. (Virucide = an agent that deactivates or destroys viruses.)
How does it work? If you've had a rug cleaned before we will have the details on file and can quote a price, apply the offer and arrange collection if you want to go ahead.
If you've never had us clean your rug’s please call and we'll ask you to describe it. We'll ask a few simple questions, which may be answered if you look at the label on the back of the rug:
1.What size is it? (we can work with metric or 'old money' imperial, don't worry.)
2.Is it wool or synthetic, eg, polypropylene, often described on the label, again don't worry if you're not sure, we can confirm our collection.
3.Are there any fringes/tassels on the shorter ends, or all the way around if it's circular.
4.Where did you buy it, this often gives us an idea of the style of rug.
You can of course always take a picture of the rug, front and back, including the label, and email them in reply to this email, and include the size. We give you a quote and you decide if you want to go ahead, no pressure and you can call us back, we don't expect an instant answer to go ahead. If you want to go ahead, we agree a collection day and approximate time slot. We call you when we're 10-20 minutes away so you can have the rug rolled up and ready inside your front door, or we can collect from a porch or garage if you prefer. We may be able to roll the rug up for you if we can social distance whilst doing so. As we arrive, we will knock on the door and step back to allow you to open the door and observe social distancing. We will sanitise our hands with a virucide. We'll come in just far enough to pick the rug up and take it to our van. Then we'll use our bacterial & virucide spray and paper towels to "touch point clean" any areas we may have touched, such as the door, door frame and door handle.
We'll pamper your rug in our workshop through the full process:
•Use our specialist rug be**er to remove the grit and heavy soil and then thoroughly vacuuming with a commercial cleaner.•Pre-spray with virucide disinfectant.•Agitate with a soft brush and allow dwell time.•Thoroughly deep wet clean, including full immersion if required.•Spot clean stains where required.•Additional rinse process to ensure no residues are left behind.•Treat any fringes to prevent browning as they dry.•Vacuum extract the rinse solutions.•Inspection part one.•Apply virucide post treatment, which has some residual 'kill' element but is perfectly safe for you.•Hang to dry, in our temperature and humidity controlled drying room.•Inspect and lay out to thoroughly vacuum again.•Reclean if required and repeat the process.•Call you to confirm a day to return it.•Call when we're 10-20 minutes away.•Knock on your door and return to the van to pick up your rug.•If you've opened the door and stepped back we'll pop the rug into your hallway, or your porch or garage if you prefer.•'Touch point clean as we did when we collected.•Ask you to pay using Bacs or a credit or debit card using out machine which we will disinfect in front of you. Everyone wins, I stay a little busier during the 'lockdown' and you can get cleaner and brighter rugs that have been cleaned and disinfected with a virucide, the best you can get.
We would love to hear from you, so please take a look at your rug and see if it would benefit from some TLC in our rug pampering workshop.
