Big steps last week — the base is in 💪 all depths checked. 100mm Hexatherm down. it’s really exciting to see the project coming together piece by piece. The groundwork has been set, and now we’re ready to move on to the next stage the pool will be delivered tomorrow.
It’s been a lot of hard work so far, but the transformation is definitely underway. Can’t wait to see it all finished! 🙌

⏭️Next steps screed and insulate base with Hexatherm and a 4/1 mix for full Part L compliance.

Great progress so far — we have managed to get the bulk of the standing water and debris out, which is a huge step. From the photos, the pool shell and fittings are exposed enough now to move into the testing and prep phase.

From here have:

1. Pressured tested all pipework
Cap off returns, skimmers, main drain, and vacuum line individually.Pressurise and monitor for drops

2. Surface Prep
Power wash the pool shell to remove algae, moss, and scale.
Use a mild acid wash to restore the surface and ensure tiles will bond.
Check for hollow spots in render — knock-test walls and floor.
3. Tile & Grout
Choose frost-resistant pool-grade tiles and flexible waterproof grout.
Ensure adhesive is pool-specific (not general-use tile adhesive).
Allow proper curing time before filling.
4. Equipment Check
Inspect pump, filter, heater, and chlorination system before recommissioning.
Replace perished seals, O-rings, and gaskets.
5. Refill & Balance
Once confirmed watertight, refill gradually.
Shock chlorinate on first fill.
Balance pH, alkalinity, and hardness to protect surfaces and equipment.

Tony has been such an asset to the team alongside Jonathan & Rog.

Our Engineer has replaced both Badu pumps on the Spa

Replaced a faulty RCD on the controller board

Removed balance tank lid as our Spa wouldn’t self fill removed the sensors and replaced with a simple but effective float system

We have completed a sand change over to glass

Replaced the multiport valve

Replaced the automatic top up on the swimming pool

Removed and installed a Thermalec 6Kw single phase heater

The list goes on and the Spa is looking beautiful

If only Tony’s video skills were as good as the quality of his work.
