Dear all,

It has taken some courage for me to compose this, but I feel I must.

(Please note that we all clean because we love to, and while it's a job it's also therapy for us, so this isn't a moan).

I blame myself for setting a bad precedence, however, I couldn't bring myself to leaving anywhere undone, which probably gave some of you the impression that your properties could be done within the time agreed.

While it's easy to stick within the time for some, for others that isn't the case for various reasons.

The way that we clean we do our best to eliminate your need to do anything after a long day's work and possibly the need for a deep clean.

As with all our regular cleans we remove everything to dust, wipe skirting boards etc.

With that being said going forward I will be sticking within the time unless previously discussed (meaning you the client honestly point out that you know we'll need more time, as speaking about money makes me uncomfortable).

As a result there are areas that will be left undone, as I don't believe in rushing to clean everywhere while not doing it probably leaving room for you the client to be dissatisfied.

I know times are difficult for everyone and I know having a cleaner is a luxury for many, however I have to be able to make a basic living otherwise doing this would be pointless.

I do hope you all understand.

Hi All,
Recently there has been a couple queries as it relates to payment/charges etc. This is just to clarify a few things:

Please be aware that if we haven't been to your property for especially a month, cleaning a property of your size can't take two hours (2/3 full bathrooms, half baths, toilets, 3 bedrooms, lounge, living, dining, hallways, kitchen etc) albeit with three people. If you couldn't clean your property in 6 hours with the thoroughness we do, neither can we. Please expect to add another hour or tell us which room/rooms to leave.

Most jobs we have been doing over the time because I want to keep everyone happy, however I'm not being paid for it, while I have to pay who works for me. That can no longer happen. I will be sticking to the time and leaving what cannot get done, unless you specify beforehand, as discussions of these type makes me uneasy.

Also: Please note no two homes are the same, everyone lives differently; therefore charges will apply differently.

For those with animals, please understand that if your animals sheds or isn't house trained it will take more time than a household with no animals and animals that are groomed.

This is just so that I nor my workers feel any level of stress on jobs, because of the pressure I feel has to be placed on them to complete jobs within times that frankly is unrealistic and giving free time while as a business I lose.

With the impending announcement from the government it is indeed worrying times for everyone, especially businesses. While we understand that measures has to be taken to limit/stop the spread of covid-19 a lot of businesses won't survive at the end of it. While I advocate for human life and health first please continue to support local businesses if you can.

In these uncertain times we need your support now more than ever as this pandemic doesn't stop our bills from coming... In this job, if we don't physically work we don't get paid or bailouts.

If your household is safe and mine is, with preventive measures taken we are still open for business.

As Sheffield moves into tier 3 of Covid-19 Thompsons would like to reassure you that as long as your household remains safe we would still like to honour our obligations to you to keep working.

Most if not all our cleans are generally done without the homeowners present and we would like to reemphasize that. We will continue to work taking the preventative measures of keeping our distance and wearing our gloves and mask.

We would also like to add that we are now also qualified to offer biohazard/crimescene/infectious diseases/covid-19 decontamination fogging.
