Blocked drain cleared in Scunthorpe.

Called out to a flooding problem caused by a blocked old type interceptor drain. The customer had tried to clear it themselves, but the drain rods got stuck on a displaced joint upstream and stopped the flow completely.

We cleared the blockage with high-pressure water jetting, checked the line with CCTV, retrieved the stuck rods, and restored full flow.

On site in Yorkshire today for a regular client after an accidental blockage caused by a 100mm Baileys drain stopper. CCTV inspection located the issue and HPWJ was used to retrieve the b**g and restore full flow.

Across North Lincolnshire we’ve fitted our third non-return valve this week due to rats damaging toilet flexi connectors.

Recently completed job in Scunthorpe after rodents got into the drainage system and damaged a flexi toilet pan connector, which led to an internal leak.

The plumber who attended recommended us to sort the issue. We fitted a non-return valve to the drain outlet, which allows waste to flow as normal but prevents rodents getting back into the private drain and causing further damage.

With the colder weather arriving we’re seeing the usual increase in blockages affecting older brick-built manholes.

Cold conditions can cause moisture inside the brickwork to freeze and expand. This often leads to the brick face flaking or breaking away, and the loose pieces can fall into the channel. Once there, they tend to catch tissue and other debris, which can gradually build into a blockage.

If you have brick-built chambers on your property, it’s sensible to lift the covers occasionally through winter to make sure everything is clear.

Toilet drain blockage cleared at a property near Winterton. The backed-up drain had caused internal flooding. We carried out high-pressure water jetting to remove the obstruction and fully restore flow to the pump chamber.

🚽 Toilet Unblock – Barnetby 💧

Our team attended a property in Barnetby after reports of a blocked toilet.
Using CCTV drain inspection equipment, we located the cause — a toilet pan connector seal left in the line following recent refurbishment works.

The obstruction was cleared using high-pressure water jetting, restoring full flow to the system.

Emergency callout to a pub in Scunthorpe after the cellar flooded from a blocked drain. CCTV found rodents pulling mud and silt in through an old redundant inlet.

Got it sorted the same day — cleared the blockage with HPWJ, cleaned everything out, sealed the inlet, and fitted a flood defence valve to stop it happening again. All flowing fine now.
