Statement - COVID19

There are a number of cleaning companies claiming to be able to kill the Coronavirus COVID-19. Please note this is serious misinformation. COVID-19 is an enveloped virus, and at present there are NO KNOWN products certified to break that envelope. A professional cleaning company or chemical supplier/manufacturer should NEVER make this guarantee.

Please don’t be misled by claims that cannot be backed up scientifically.

Regardless of what chemicals may be able to destroy the Coronavirus, there are no current products that will kill the new strain, COVID-19, that have legal backing. Scientific tests on COVID-19 are no doubt underway but are in the very early stages of testing.

As a professional cleaning company, Pile Up Cleaning Ltd, will however, ensure maintaining the correct hygiene practices to the highest standard, regularly disinfecting equipment and wearing personal protective equipment to reduce the likelihood of spreading the virus.

I can only recommend following official guidelines from GOV.UK and the NHS. I am also following the technical cleaning advice from the British Institute Cleaning Science via the NCCA.

I don’t put much on here about stone floors, but I do work on some really nice ones. This particular one is limestone which, being a sedimentary rock, has all sorts of interesting things in it. The job was to deep clean and apply a sealant. This really brought out the colour of fossils in the stone. These shapes will be millions of years old! My next step will be to identify exactly what they are.
