Just a reminder we are now in our final few days of operating Saltburn Launderette 😌

Our Guisborough Odd Socks Cafe Launderette is unaffected and will continue to operate as normal.

Just a few things to consider over the next few days:

🫧 Last Service wash to be brought in no later than 10am Tuesday 2nd Aug
🫧 No more duvets, throws or large items can be laundered at saltburn.
🫧 no more dry cleaning can be taken into Saltburn
🫧 No more ironing can be taken into Saltburn

Please bear in mind that we will close permanently at 5pm on Wednesday 3rd Aug and everything will need to be collected before then 👍

We have enquiry forms at Saltburn for anyone that might require a collection or delivery moving forward. We can also help with directions to our Guisborough Odd Socks too 👍

Long, sad post alert 😞

It is with a very heavy heart that myself (michelle) and Sean need to announce the permanent closure of Saltburn Odd Socks Launderette.

We have poured our heart and soul into this gorgeous retro launderette and our staff Cheryl & Sharon have been absolutely amazing at creating the friendly, welcoming community hub we always want in our launderettes.

As many may know we have until now rented this space off the previous owners always with a view to buying. Unfortunately negotiations for the purchase have now been going on for nearly 2 years and we have been unable to reach an agreement on price 😞

The only way forward for us with this property would have been to purchase and refit / revamp as the machines are desperately in need of replacement, and the building itself needs a lot of work. We are also finding that the utility consumption of older machines is almost double what our new machines in our other launderette & laundry consume. This has become a far greater consideration for us as the last two years have progressed.

Therefore we will sadly be closing our doors permanently on Wednesday 3rd August at 5pm.

Our Odd Socks Cafe Launderette will continue to operate as normal, as will Odd Socks Laundry and Housekeeping at lingdale. We will also continue offering collections and deliveries 3 times a week to saltburn and the surrounding area.

We would like to extend a massive Thank-you to the community of Saltburn for supporting us so wholeheartedly. This decision has nothing to do with footfall or the communities usage of the business which is what makes it all the harder for us 💔

We do ask that any questions regarding our decision making are directed to us via DM or catching myself in Saltburn on a Tuesday morning. Please don’t question Cheryl or Sharon on this aspect. However if your question relates to future laundry requirements all our staff will be able to help. We can advise on how we may be able to continue our services via Guisborough (domestic loads) or lingdale (commercial loads) and times of our collections and deliveries around Saltburn.
