Wet weather has definitely stopped play today, so I thought I'd share some pictures of a recent conservatory clean for a landlord on one of his rental properties, before it went back on the 'to let' market. Balls!.... It's amazing what you find in a gutter. unfortunately they couldn't be more perfectly shaped to fit in the top of a downpipe and stop the water escaping. Fortunately there are a couple of options to solve this problem. Option one - ban the kids from playing with tennis balls (good luck with that one) or, option two - get your gutters cleared on a regular basis (much easier).

Agghh! It's the return of the killer gutter hedgehogs.... The first picture shows the gutter hedgehog in place. The second picture shows all the decomposing leaf mulch under the hedgehog, still blocking the gutter. We don't just clear and clean gutters, we repair and replace them too. This customer had a leaking gutter union at the front of their property (the dripping was driving him crazy and kept him awake at night!) and a cracked gutter on their kitchen extension. Both sections were replaced and the rest of the gutters cleared out.

All the downpipes on this property were blocked. Although the actual gutters themselves weren't too bad, every time they had heavy rain, the water cascaded over the top of the gutters because it had nowhere to go.

A trip to Oldham to clear out more gutters. I have to say, I'm really not a fan of the plastic mesh gutter guards. Leaves and seeds get trapped in them and it makes it a nightmare to clear the gutters. A much better option is to make sure you get your gutters cleared annually.
