Here's someone that neither our employees or our clients get to see very often, but that doesn't mean he's not an essential part of the team.
Because without him, invoices wouldnât go out on time, numbers wouldnât add up, and things behind the scenes would get a lot more complicated, very quickly.
Ian is our Client Accounts Manager, he makes sure our clients receive the right invoices at the right time, without fuss.
He keeps things steady, organised and accurate, all while being one of the most consistently positive people youâll meet. Add a love of travel, a passion for sport (watching, not playing!đ), and a wizard-like ability with a spreadsheet and youâve got Ian.
Hereâs a bit more about him in his own words:
Workplace drink?
Nice cup of strong builders' tea, with milk and one sweetener. A few in the morning and a couple in the afternoon.
Favourite saying, quote or advice?
(1) In Only Fools And Horses, Raquel's father asks, 'Are you a naval man, Derek?' to which Del Boy replies, 'No, I'm more of a leg man myself...'
(2) Andrey Previn telling Eric Morecambe on their Christmas Show, 'You're playing all the wrong notes!' to which Eric shot back, 'I'm playing all the right notes, just not necessarily in the right order!'
Both make me laugh out loud each time I come across the clips on TV.
All-time favourite TV show, movie or book?
The Sting. Great story, great cast, great music. Just great in general.
What did you want to be when you grew up? or (if you could do any other job in the world what would it be?)
Ideal job would be selling programmes at the Olympic Games. It might not pay too well, but the working hours look fantastic :)
What's a memory that makes you smile?
Reading a newspaper whilst floating in the Dead Sea.
What's your go-to genre/era of music? When do you listen to music?
Most soft, yacht and stadium rock. Anything from Def Leppard to Talking Heads. Favourite songs include The Whole Of The Moon by The Waterboys and Common People by Pulp. Often in the car on longer journeys to weekends away.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself?
We have a map of the world on a wall at home and intend to scratch of many of its beautiful countries as we can. The picture is me at the top of the Colosseum in Rome.
At work, he's calm, consistently upbeat, and quietly keeps everything balanced behind the scenes.
At home, he's laughing out loud to classic British comedy, planning the next trip to tick off the map, and if thereâs sport on, chances are heâs already seen it, analysed it, and is ready to talk about it.
