It's nesting season!

It is illegal to remove a bird's nest that is in the process of being built, or is fully built (regardless of whether eggs have been laid). You must leave this until September.

Jackdaws are your most likely culprit for chimneys. Do not light your fire. Stick a note in your diary to contact us in September to have a cowl fitted!

We've been recruiting, and can introduce Step In Time's newest team member. Crumble! ♥

She has just about scraped through her 2 month probation window since she arrived from Bulgaria in December....😅🥰

Results:
Finance knowledge - eats VAT receipts.
Productivity - mainly sleeps.
Budgeting - eating through the stationery budget.
Office etiquette - highly distracting!

Joking aside, she's an absolute joy and we love her so much! She probably won't be in the van with Karl, but she says hello to you all!

Our heartfelt thanks to Precious Pups Bulgaria for giving her such a loving start in life. They have some gorgeous furry friends waiting for their new homes.

Our rotary power sweeping method works really well on masonry.

It's a very delicate balance of applying enough pressure to clean the walls, without damaging any mortar or brick work, particularly in old chimney stacks.

You couldn't see the surface of the walls in this chimney before we started. But look at the difference afterwards. What a beauty (if you like that kind of thing!).

We've got the tech to modify the pressure according to each chimney stack, to maximise efficiency and minimise any mess.

Knowledge is power and it's Chimney Fire Safety Week my friends!

One of the MOST frequent causes of a blocked chimney that we see is SLUMBER BURNING. This is running a smaller (less hot) fire overnight. Don't do it!

When you reduce ANY of the components of a fire - that is the OXYGEN, HEAT, or FUEL, then you instantly create pollutants. These include carbon monoxide tar.

You increase your chimney's risk of blockage, of fire, and it's a serious health risk.

Put your fire out before bed or let it burn fully with full air supply.
