What do you enjoy most about your job? 🤔

And what do you call yourself? 😄

Cleaner? Janitor? Housekeeper? Or, if you want to sound a bit posh... chamber maid? 😂

Me? I'm a chamber maid... a bit of this, a bit of that... so basically, a bit of everything! 🧹🛏️✨

I actually love making beds. They always tell me they love the way I make them, but I still end up battling with the duvet and chasing wrinkles that seem to appear out of nowhere! 🤣 I think I'm just my own worst critic.

But the best part of my job isn't just the cleaning. It's the chats over a cup of tea (they always taste better with lovely company ☕), being greeted by wagging tails and cuddling my clients' dogs as if they were my own ❤️, putting fresh flowers in a vase to brighten up a room , and seeing the smile on a client's face when they come home to a clean house. That smile makes it all worthwhile.

I'll happily have a little sing-along to my clients' music while I'm cleaning too!

Before I know it, I'm cleaning, listening, making beds, watering plants, feeding pets, and putting the world to rights over a cuppa.

We're not just cleaners. We're listeners, dog cuddlers, tea drinkers, bed makers, plant waterers, key holders, and sometimes even amateur detectives looking for someone's missing glasses! 😂

I genuinely love what I do. Every client brings something different to my day, and I wouldn't change it for the world. ❤️

Today James thought he was a genius by adding 2 more Henry tubes to reach the 15ft high spiders and cobwebs as our telescopic cob web brush was about 2 feet to short. I'm sure at one point he said people would call him Jimmy the genius, He was very pleased with himself. I did not have the heart to tell him I'm sure people have done this before.

If I could only keep one cleaning product in my kit, Dawn dish soap would be right at the top of the list.

Most people think it's just for washing up, but it's one of the hardest-working products I own. I use it on greasy pans, the hob, kitchen cupboards, sinks, extractor fans, bathroom fixtures, pet bowls, and just about anything that needs help cutting through grease and grime.

I also love eco-friendly washing-up liquid it's magic stuff too! It's amazing how well it tackles grease while being a kinder choice for the environment.

I've tried plenty of cleaning products over the years, but I always come back to Dawn. It works, a little goes a long way, and one bottle lasts for ages. Both smell amazing and fresh too.

As with any cleaning product, it's always worth testing on a small hidden area first and following the manufacturer's care instructions where needed.

Does anyone else have a love-hate relationship with their Henry Hoover? 😂

One minute you’re furious because it’s wedged itself against a door frame like it owns the place, and the next you’re talking to it like it’s a beloved pet.

I’ve heard my husband say

“Henry, walkies!”“Go on then, eat it all up!”“Good boy, Henry!” 🤣

He’s even sat on it while vacuuming, like he was on a bargain-bin fairground ride that absolutely should not have passed safety checks.

And the hose? It disappears, eats things it definitely shouldn’t, or flops around behind you like it’s trying to escape. Then Henry starts making that noise that basically says, “I’m full, I’m tired, and I’ve seen enough.”

The cable is another menace because it’s always too short, tangled round your feet, or wrapped round the whole house like you’re lassoing the sofa. And why does Henry always look so smug? Like he knows he’s the most reliable thing in the house.

Now my best friend and my husband have decided Henry Hoovers should be turned into ride-on cars for kids so they can hoover the house as they go along, help out parents around the house which is either genius or slightly unhinged.

Please tell me we’re not the only family, friends who talks to the vacuum like it’s one of us! 🤣

P.s Henry is currently unavailable he's taking a bubble bath!!!

What's your favourite gadget in your toolbox?

Mine has to be this little wire brush. It's such a simple tool, but I absolutely love using it to scrub stubborn limescale off dish racks. I genuinely find it so satisfying watching all that white build-up disappear... scrub, scrub! 😄

Give me a cup of tea ☕, a wire brush and something crusty to clean... I'm happy! 😂

Some of my favourite cleans are the ones where I know the grandchildren have been to stay. 🥰

There’s something so lovely about wiping away little paint splashes, knowing they’ve been busy making happy memories together. Finding the odd crisp, a gummy bear, or that one tiny sock tucked down the side of the sofa always makes me smile. I always hope I’ll find its matching sock somewhere else… but it’s usually already packed away in their bag! 😂

Then there are the princess stickers on the windows, the roaring dinosaur stickers on the walls, and the little game of “how many stickers can I find today?” 🦖👑

Looking out into the garden while cleaning the windows and spotting a paddling pool instantly takes me back to when my own children were little splashing around on warm summer days, eating ice lollies, with our dog happily joining in the fun. Those really were precious memories. ☀️🍦🐾

Being a cleaner isn’t just about making homes sparkle. Sometimes it’s about seeing the little signs of love, laughter, and family life that remind you what a house is really for.

Happy memories, happy families… and a job that makes me smile every day. ❤️✨

My inbox has been completely flooded across Facebook, WhatsApp, and text messages, and my phone has truly become a hotline for the wonderful people looking for cleaning support! While I absolutely love hearing from you all, the amount of enquiries has been a little overwhelming, and I am working hard to get back to everyone as soon as I can. ❤️
