Important update-small price increase & payment information
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you are all well.
Last month I sent out an email and posted on Facebook regarding a small price increase. Unfortunately, the email provider used by the Squeegee system failed, meaning many customers did not receive the message. This issue affected all users of the system, not just us, and has now been resolved.
I just wanted to make everyone aware that we have recently added a small 50p increase to each account. Even if you have two bins cleaned, the increase is still only 50p in total.
This wasn’t a decision I wanted to make, but unfortunately the running costs of the business have increased significantly. Fuel costs alone have risen sharply recently, alongside increases in other business expenses including admin and software systems we rely on daily.
I’d also like to apologise for delays replying to messages and emails recently. The amount of admin involved in managing payments and customer accounts has become extremely time-consuming, especially when dealing with missed or incorrect payments.
Please bear with me while I work through messages — I will get back to everyone as soon as possible.
A quick reminder regarding cleans and payments:
• Please do not rely solely on email notifications to know when your bins have been cleaned. You will know they have been cleaned because:
The bin will have a fresh bag
It will smell clean
It will be returned to your property
• Every clean is recorded accurately on Squeegee with the date and time. If a bin is not cleaned, it is marked as skipped and no charge is added.
At the moment, most customers pay by bank transfer, and while I truly appreciate every payment, managing a large number of individual transfers each day creates a huge amount of admin work. Mainly Building accounts & disputing cleans from months ago, Occasionally payments are missed, underpaid, or sent without a reference, which then requires extra time checking accounts and contacting customers. It’s a long unnecessary process
It hasn’t helped squeegee’s emailing system been down
Because of this, I will now be encouraging more customers to move over to GoCardless/direct debit payments where possible. This helps reduce admin and keeps everything simple and stress-free for both sides.
However, if you currently pay promptly by cash or bank transfer and your account is kept up to date, then please carry on as normal. You guys keep it simple,
For customers who regularly forget payments or build up balances, GoCardless or advance payment will now be required to continue the service. It’s important funds are available on bin cleaning day as failed transactions still charge their fee
any accounts over £10 will not be cleaned
