🤦‍♂️ WHAT A DAY! BUT WE STILL SMASHED IT! 💪💚

Just updating you guys, as Iv not been on socials much

Started the day already 2 hours behind before I’d even got going!

Set off, barely 10 minutes down the road, and BANG! 💥 Massive pop, clip snapped loosing the seal and the EGR/boost pipe blew off. Sounded like the exhaust had a hole in it, lost all power and straight into limp mode! Black smoke coming from the exhaust 🙈

Luckily, one of the lads had a spare clip and rubber seal I could borrow 🙌 So if anyone has one going spare, let me know. I’ll happily pay the going rate — I don’t do handouts, just a fair deal! 👍

Got that sorted, cracked on with the route, and then the back door handle catch snapped! 🤦‍♂️ That’s number 4 this year! You couldn’t make it up!

Young Riley had an appointment so got cover which usually slows us down
So if your bag isn’t perfect please forgive us it’s was his first day but atleast we now have a good back up runner

But despite everything thrown at us today, we still got stuck in and smashed it! 💪

This is exactly why it’s so important to leave your bins out for us to clean, rather than putting them away because we haven’t arrived at our usual time.

Things go wrong, vans break, clips snap, and sometimes the day just doesn’t go to plan!

On top of that, the bin lorries have completely changed their routes around since last week, meaning we’re having to adjust our own schedules to work around them.

When we’re running late, every single minute counts.

It might only take 60 seconds to stop, get out, check whether a bin is there, and get back on the road — but those 60 seconds quickly add up when we’re doing hundreds of bins a day.
Especially when we have just drove 6 minutes for your 1 bin

Today alone, that cost us £56 in missed cleaning opportunities 😬

For customers whose bins are regularly hit and miss, we may have to introduce a travelling fee, or unfortunately give that space to someone else.

The reality is, I’m turning customers away because most of our routes are full, so I need to prioritise customers who make things run smoothly.

I don’t want to do that, and I’d much rather keep everyone on the books! ❤️

So please, if your bin is due for cleaning, leave it kerbside until we’ve been. Even if we’re later than usual, we will get to you.

That little bit of help makes a massive difference to us, especially on days like today!

🚛 A QUICK HEADS-UP, GUYS! 🗑️

This week, the bin crew have changed their routes, so we’ve had to do a little reshuffling of our own to work around them.

Monday to Friday, it’s actually worked in our favour, and we’ve even managed to finish a little earlier! 🙌

Unfortunately, today hasn’t gone quite to plan! 🤦‍♂️

We’ve travelled from Brecks through Sunnyside and up to Ravenfield, only to find that ZERO bins have been emptied by the bin men! 😩

We’ve been out for over 2 hours and have only managed to clean around 10 bins because we’re having to work around bins that haven’t been emptied.

Don’t worry, we WILL get to you all! 💚💛

However, we may be arriving at a different time than usual. If you could please leave your bins kerbside and accessible, it will save us valuable time and help us get around everyone as efficiently as possible.

We’ll stay out later if needed to make sure we get everyone completed. 💪

Unfortunately, this is one of those things that’s out of our hands. We’re still getting used to the new routes and having to jiggle things around to find what works best.

As long as the bin men stick to their routes, we can plan ours around them! 🤞😂

I’m happy for you to bring your account balance up to date via bank transfer.

Or I can request for the outstanding balance once gocardless is set up

Moving forward, however, all payments will need to be made through our automatic payment system using either Stripe or GoCardless.

This just saves us the time spent checking and matching individual bank transfers every day.

I know some of you like to pay a few in advance, if you sign up to gocardless what I can offer is on your last credit I can send for as many cleans a you like for example 3 month £21, then by the next clean your account will be topped up automatically

💷 BANK TRANSFER CUSTOMERS

We’ve finally joined the 21st century and set up automated payments through Stripe & GoCardless. 🙌

There’s simply too many customers paying by bank transfer, and keeping on top of all those payments is eating up all my evenings.

All new customers are direct debit or cash only

I’d much rather be spending my evenings doing something other than checking bank statements and matching up £3.50 payments! 😂

So going forward, automatic payments are the only option.

📧 When you receive your invoice, simply open it and click “PAY NOW”.

You’ll have a few options:

💳 Pay Now – pay for your latest clean
🔄 Set up a Direct Debit through Stripe
🔄 Set up a Direct Debit through GoCardless

Once it’s set up, it’s automatic and your account updates automatically.

Basically… set it up once and forget about it. 😂

⚠️ AND THIS IS IMPORTANT…

I’m forever getting messages saying:

“It says I owe £14 but I thought I’d only missed one clean?”

Then I check the bank… and unfortunately, they actually do owe £14. 😂

This is exactly why we’re moving away from bank transfers.

With automatic payments, your account balance is updated properly when you pay. If your account says you owe £14, then you owe £14. There’s no guessing and no trying to work out whether a bank transfer has been missed somewhere.

If you haven’t paid through Stripe or GoCardless, the balance remains outstanding.

So basically:

💷 It says you owe it = you owe it. 😂

⚠️ If you set up a Direct Debit, please make sure there are sufficient funds available when the payment is due. Failed payment attempts still cost us money, so unfortunately “I forgot” isn’t a payment method. 😂

This is being introduced simply because the amount of manual payments has become far too much to keep on top of, and I need my evenings back!

So if you’re still paying by bank transfer…

PLEASE MAKE THE SWITCH. 😂

It’ll be easier for you, easier for us, and one less thing for me to be sat doing at night.

I will mention it’s important to pay each invoice as they come in, you can only pay that invoice to pay 2 week ago open your other invoice from 2 week ago ☺️

🚨 NEW CUSTOMERS – PAYMENT UPDATE 🚨

Right, here we go… 😂

If you’re a new customer subscribing to Wheelie Clean Rotherham, we’re operating a 12-month subscription.
All booking in is through our website and must agree to terms and conditions

💷 £7 paid in advance = your next 2 cleans covered
💳 Payment is through GoCardless only. We will request the next 2 payments on the day we use your last credit guaranteeing the payments received and on your account for the following 2 cleans

If the payment bounces and there’s no credit on your account, we won’t be cleaning the bin. Simple as that. 🗑️🚫

Unfortunately, our hand has been forced on this one.

This is something I should have implemented from the start

We’ve had too many people happily letting their balance build up, ignoring messages and the door, then suddenly acting like we’ve committed a crime when we ask for the money they already owe. 😂

“But why do I owe £28?”

Because we’ve cleaned your bin 8 times and you haven’t paid us… 🤦‍♂️😂

Or get face on because we haven’t cleaned their bin this week because they owe way too much money
People know it’s a pay as you go service, there’s no excuse, grow up

Pathetic, I know — but unfortunately this is where we’re at.

This will also apply to customers who we are constantly chasing for payment. If we have to spend our evenings sending messages asking for £3.50, something has gone badly wrong! 😂

It’s like you going to work and gaffer saying we can’t pay you for 7 hours of last weeks work
I’m sure you wouldn’t be happy either

If you’re one of our original customers who pays each clean or monthly without us chasing you you’re absolutely fine and nothing changes for you. I’m not talking about you guys
Apart from changing to paying via stripe to make payment instead of bank transfer but to be honest it’s easier for you
Just open your email invoice and click pay invoice now

It’s the ones I’m posting cards for every fortnight messaging every week the ones it takes me 3/4 even 6 months 40 messages txts n calls to get paid
Spending more time chasing money then actually cleaning bins

This ain’t a hobby of mine every penny counts and is spoken for

This year we are going to start the Christmas cash for kids raffle early (start selling tickets the start of November)
That way it gives us plenty of time to get the tickets posted ready to draw the second week in December giving me time to get everything and get it to the people that need it
Last year we sold 1000 tickets at £1 per strip and raised a massive £1000 getting 4 full shopping trolleys of toys for children going with out
We don’t just clean bins here at wheelie clean Rotherham
Children are our future and some need a helping hand so be kind
Let’s go for the £1000 again if I sell more we will draw 2 winners 😎

Just a quick update
This week we are back, our busiest week and completed all the work every day

After 2 hospital visits weeks & weeks of been bed ridden this week is the first i have felt half alive still not 100% but getting there

Been stuck in bed then trying to go to work the first day I’m out of bed was making things worse but I wouldn’t listen, doing a day or what I can then put back to bed for 2/3 days all I have done is work then straight home to bed
Not been able to do nothing not been booking in or even picking the phone up my priorities have been getting what regulars I can physically do then home sleeping hoping I can get out the next morning

never not had my lad I haven’t seen him for 3 week 💔 cannot wait until this weekend 💚

Totally out of my hand but service is now back to normal,cleaned for most of you for nearly 5 year missed a handful of days not even took holidays
Its been a rough few month 🤦‍♂️

Morning guys
I really shouldn’t be back at work yet but been self employed I have no choice
I’m paying 2 lads to help out while I’m ill
I’m the sat nav and fetching the odd bins and doing what I can
I do have to prioritise those in credit and those who keep on top of payments
Unfortunately I can’t afford to pay them to clean your bin if your not paying me
I did ask for accounts to be brought to date last week some of you blanked me
Once your account is brought to date we can resume as normal
