As we head into the more quieter time of the sweeping year, use the spring / summer months to get the repairs done on your stoves , in readiness for September.

This Henley Lincoln 5 had a full brick set and new baffle plate to replace the broken bricks and corroded / holed baffle plate

I often see CO ( carbon monoxide ) alarms in the wrong locations , I’ve even seen them on the floor and attached to skirting boards.

I had a call from a customer who’s GasSafe engineer wouldn’t sign off her gas fire service due to a blockage , she called me to help, using my CCTV it was identified as a large old birds nest, I removed it with a nest hook , swept it to remove all debris and then confirmed it was clear with the camera , one happy customer , I also advised her that her cowl was for venting a disused flue as well, it can’t be used for gas or real fires

Doing this job I get some of the best office views 👌🏻 albeit a bit nippy 🥶

Need a roof checking? Call me , I can use my drone to record and zoom into roofs to identify issues, and then send the footage to your phone, cheaper than scaffolding and safer than ladders 👍🏻 you can then send the footage to tradesperson to show them the issues

I see a lot of dry wood stacked next to stoves , please don’t 😬👍🏻

Our crews were recently called to a fire caused by logs stored too close to a log burner.

Always keep wood, coal, and other fuels at a safe distance and use a spark guard around fire places, open fires and log burning stoves .

A nice message from a customer who’s 25 year old stove I totally stripped out in Sept , replacing all internals including door and glass rope, it was too dangerous to use , but it’s now back to full working order 👍🏻

Some open fires that were thankful for a thorough sweep, a pub, a country house and a house that’s being renovated which was hiding a nest, skeletal bird remains and a newspaper from 1969 😂

If a chimney ever needed to be swept , it was this one , not swept for over 25 years 😱🤦🏻‍♂️ if that wasn’t bad enough, as some point the wooden lintel that is too close to the flue pipe, has caught fire a few times 🔥 a DO NOT USE has been advised to the customer until ALL the issues have been rectified
