🐁 🐀 RATS, WASPS & SQUIRRELS🐀🐁
It has been a varied week…..
I’m still getting a few call outs for the odd wasps nest that is in a position where it is causing safety issues, and they have been surprisingly active!
There have been lots of rats outside and in recently....
I can do a short term baiting program if you have rats in your garden. It consists of 4 visits over 6 weeks and this is enough to cull a current infestation ........ get in touch if you need this service and I can give you more details.
The majority of call outs for noises in the walls or attic have been for rats now the weather has turned colder and wetter. There are also quite a few mice getting into homes too! Sometimes all they need is a 5mm gap (the thickness of a pencil) and they are in! Rodent means ‘to gnaw’ and refers to the incisor teeth that keep growing and have to be ground down by gnawing. The damage these rats, mice and also squirrels cause in our homes from gnawing is immense! They all carry disease that can be passed on to humans too!
I’m starting to get calls for squirrels that are getting into peoples lofts seeking warmth and making their nests in the warm ready for their first litter in Feb/March. At first you’ve only got the one female going in and out but before long you could have 7 or 8 of them creating havoc up there. You usually hear them in them evening and early morning. They keep the same hours as us and sleep all night. They will quite often gnaw a hole in the fascia board to gain access. It’s important to give me a call as soon as you see / hear one going in and out.
The damage any of these pests can cause can be immense and costly because of the gnawing and they also carry disease. Get in touch as soon as you can so that I can trap them before you are faced with massive repair bills.
As well as treating the existing problem be it rats, mice or squirrels or any other pests it’s important to try to find out how they are getting into your homes so that the likely entry points can be proofed to prevent the problem reoccurring!
