Rats have an umbrella rib cage and can get through gaps the size of their sculls!

It’s very much wasp season!
I’m getting calls for nests in attics, under tiles, behind fascia boards, in air bricks and in bushes. Most are wasps, but some on inspection, turn out to be bumble bees and honey bees.
Honey bees are so important to our eco system so it would have to be exceptional circumstances for pest control to have to terminate a nest. The same applies to bumble bees….. these rarely sting unless provoked. So with both of these species leave well alone if possible and let them get on with what they do best helping to pollinate our plants and crops. If you are unsure what you have, give me a call and I’ll take a look and advise on the best course of action.

🐁 🐀 RATS, WASPS & SQUIRRELS🐀🐁
It has been a varied week…..

I’m still getting a few call outs for the odd wasps nest that is in a position where it is causing safety issues, and they have been surprisingly active!

There have been lots of rats outside and in recently....
I can do a short term baiting program if you have rats in your garden. It consists of 4 visits over 6 weeks and this is enough to cull a current infestation ........ get in touch if you need this service and I can give you more details.

The majority of call outs for noises in the walls or attic have been for rats now the weather has turned colder and wetter. There are also quite a few mice getting into homes too! Sometimes all they need is a 5mm gap (the thickness of a pencil) and they are in! Rodent means ‘to gnaw’ and refers to the incisor teeth that keep growing and have to be ground down by gnawing. The damage these rats, mice and also squirrels cause in our homes from gnawing is immense! They all carry disease that can be passed on to humans too!

As responsible pest controllers we do not treat bees given their importance to the eco system. At the moment swarming bees are common and they will usually move on after a few days.
