Stair transition strips take constant foot traffic, so rubber from shoes, dust and grime build up in the grooves over time. A quick mop usually goes straight over it and leaves the dirt behind.

This was removed during a standard clean with a few seconds of proper agitation.

In HMOs the sheet might say โ€œcleaned.โ€
But the tenants know better.

We walked through a block this week and the communal areas were filthy.
Bins overflowing.
Stairs covered in dust.
