We’re really excited to announce a new service we’re launching, Steps Together: Befriending Neath Port Talbot. After running our community garden and Warm hub, one of the most common issues we found service users facing was loneliness, with some users facing sometimes days long periods without seeing another person or without meaningful contact. This led us to wanted to help tackle this issue, providing a befriending service that is safe and consistent, and also that benefitted its volunteers, by providing in depth training and safeguarding support to help provide greater opportunities and up-skilling. We are currently working to get everything ready and are launching in May, we will have more details soon for anyone interested in volunteering or in benefitting from the service. Watch this space ☺️
Rydym yn gyffrous iawn i gyhoeddi gwasanaeth newydd rydym yn ei lansio, Steps Together: Cyfeillio Castell-nedd Port Talbot. Ar ôl rhedeg ein gardd gymunedol a’n hwb cynnes, un o’r materion mwyaf cyffredin a welsom ymhlith defnyddwyr gwasanaeth oedd unigrwydd, gyda rhai defnyddwyr yn wynebu cyfnodau weithiau’n para sawl diwrnod heb weld person arall nac heb gyswllt ystyrlon. Arweiniodd hyn at ein bod eisiau helpu i fynd i’r afael â’r broblem hon, drwy ddarparu gwasanaeth cyfeillio sy’n ddiogel ac yn gyson, ac sydd hefyd o fudd i’w wirfoddolwyr, drwy ddarparu hyfforddiant manwl a chymorth diogelu er mwyn cynnig mwy o gyfleoedd a datblygu sgiliau. Rydym ar hyn o bryd yn gweithio i baratoi popeth ac yn lansio ym mis Mai; bydd gennym fwy o fanylion yn fuan i unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb mewn gwirfoddoli neu fanteisio ar y gwasanaeth.
