Poor Papa is currently our longest-stayer in the kennels, having now spent more than 300 days at Woodside.
Husky cross Papa arrived in April with his brother, Bodie when their owner’s landlord wouldn’t allow them to remain in the property.
It soon became clear that the brothers would rather be homed separately, and it wasn't long before Bodie caught the eye of adopters. But Papa hasn’t been so lucky.
Handsome Papa is unrecognisable from the shut-down, frightened and underweight dog that arrived last spring, having had little experience of the world outside. He used to be scared of going out on walks, and if let off in our enclosed field would try to run back to his kennel.
However Papa now looks forward to going out on adventures and continues to grow in confidence.
While he’s still unsure of people he doesn’t know, with time and reassurance he soon overcomes his anxieties.
Papa, 3, is an intelligent, friendly boy who would like an active home. Someone who understands the Husky breed would be beneficial but not essential.
Papa cannot live with cats but could live with children aged 12+.
