Wednesday this week saw a new customer visit, with her gorgeous convertible 640D.

Not seen many of these around and this was in need of a little tlc since the finer details had never really been done, the dealership “prep” was minimal at best, so it needed that extra bit of love.

All cars here are treated as if they were my own so you can be assured your car is in safe hands.

Started inside by vacuuming and dusting, pulled the mats and ran the drill brush and extractor over them to pull out years of ingrained dirt. The leather was all cleaned and treated too.

Onto the exterior, wheels and tyres were deep cleaned and decontaminated with fallout remover, then while the pre wash was sat on the surface, the undercarriage washer was pushed under the car to get off dirt that hardly ever gets removed (it was surprising to see how much came out!)
After a two step pre wash, the paint was then washed with the standard two bucket method, then thoroughly rinsed and dried.

After this the car needed to be decontaminated from tar spots and fallout, the car is parked under trees a lot so was quite a bit of sap and sadly while it would have benefitted from being clayed too, this was not being done today as the marring that would have been inflicted by claying is much more difficult to remove so 9 times out of 10 this step isn’t required as chemical decontamination removes a vast majority of embedded dirt than regular washing doesn’t remove.

Since this was a platinum package today, the car was hand glazed and finally waxed.
A few extras included in a platinum package include a glass sealant to ALL exterior glass making driving in the rain much safer as water will bead and roll up the windscreen thus requiring less use of the wipers.

Finally the tyres were given a healthy coat of Gyeon Q2m tyre express to really give a glossy look.

Safe to say this 640D is back to looking it’s best again and will hopefully be returning for regular washing and I plan to have this one back for a full convertible roof clean as well.

Today we went to a new customers house to carry out a platinum valet on her new (to her) Mercedes GLC, it had been “prepped” to a minimum standard by the dealership but not to a brilliant standard she was happy with.

We did all our usual processes and decontaminated the paintwork and wheels too as part of the platinum, the vehicle was hand polished and waxed, all exterior glass was coated with a rain repellant coating that will make driving in the rain much safer.

Sadly rain kept halting the progress but we pushed through and kept going on bits and bobs where possible.

The colour on this car is insane and it will now be protected for a good few months and will hopefully be seeing this one on a regular basis for regular maintenance to keep it looking it’s best 😊

Then this Renault Scenic was only having a silver valet but the boot was full of dog hair so the majority of the effort was needed for this, the exterior was washed and dried as per the usual method, then given a layer of Purity-x applied via foam lance which will see a few weeks of protection, a very easy and quick bit of protection.

The interior was vacuumed and all surfaces wiped down and glass cleaned inside, it’s definitely looking tidier now for a 12 year old car and we will be back doing this one on a bi-monthly basis to keep it looking better than what it used to after a visit to the foreign hand car wash

First up today was a new customer having a platinum valet on this lovely little Aygo he bought for his daughter to learn in, it had been sat for a few months so had a bit of mould on the rear bench and the carpets.

Platinum valet includes chemical decontamination of the paintwork, hand glaze and wax, wet vac to carpets and seats, glass sealant on all exterior glass.

One that got done recently, haven’t posted much so apologies, this car had been ceramic coated previously so just a ph neutral wash was needed to bring this back up to where it should be.

Usual processes followed for this one, wheels and two stage prewash for paint, washed with plush mitts and two bucket method. Then simply rinsed and dried and the coating was showing it’s protective properties once again.

Interior had a vacuum, wipe down of all surfaces and leather was all cleaned, glass cleaned inside and out and tyres dressed to achieve this result.

Did a quick engine bay clean on my own car this afternoon, as it hadn’t been done for a while.

Had a Klin Korea “green monster” towel to hand which is great for removing heavy grime, although this wasn’t too dirty, I went in with a bucket of warm-ish water and shampoo, sprayed some degreaser around and worked the shampoo around with the towel.

Came up really nicely after a rinse down, dry and dressed with meguiars engine dressing

This Tucson really came up nice when finished, after a thorough pre wash and rinse, the wheels and tyres were cleaned.

While prepping the two bucket method, the car was snowfoamed with Bilt hamber Autofoam at 4% (manufacturer recommended dilution) and left to dwell for around 5 minutes then rinsed off.

The car was then washed with two mitts, one for the majority of the bodywork and a second one for the lower dirtiest sections, then rinsed down.

Next with the car wet, it was given a layer of gyeon wet coat and another rinse down to see a decent amount of protection for a few weeks until we revisit to do paint, glass, leather protection properly.

Just a quick demonstration on a simple to use, yet effective spray sealant offered on most maintenance washes.

You can see there’s little to no water behaviour on the first rinse, a simple spray over of Gyeon wet coat, spread across the panel with the water stream, and rinsed down gives instant protection and makes the vehicle much easier to dry 👌🏻

Most cars needing a decent prewash at this time of year. This 71 plate Hyundai Tucson was in serious need of a good clean, even with 3000 miles on the clock, this video shows how important it is to prewash the car before contact washing.

Imagine pushing all that dirt around by not prewashing 😭
