Our general pest control division busy finding giant wasp nests....

This is how big a wasp nest can become if allowed to come to fruition, found by one of our Leicester pest control technicians Terrence Shaw while doing other loft works last week.

here will have been thousands of wasps servicing one queen here by the end of the summer – possibly as many as 6,000 individuals.

Our pest control division's insect identification service proved invaluable for a customer in Basingstoke who was being plagued with strange beetles in her kitchen.

She sent samples off and the identification came back with 'red rust flour beetles'.

With a bit of research from a pest controller and some hands-on investigation, he was able to locate, treat and remove the source of the infestation, which turned out to be an old bumble bee nest in the attic.

It's very common indeed for lorry cabs where the drivers sleep to have problems with bed bugs. Because of all the nooks and crannies, it's impossible to get rid of this problem with insecticide. With hospitality just opening up again, the phones have been red hot with hoteliers, B&B owners and guest house owners shocked that there are still live bed bugs in rooms that haven't been occupied for months. Bed bugs are superbly resilient, and can 'shut down' for many months on end without needing to feed. Then, when there is C02 signature in the room again, they 're-animate' (and blood feed voraciously initially to make up for lost time). However although they CAN live a long time without feeding, bed bugs only do that if they have to.
