My paints page is Special Care Nursery - SCN Air Dry Reborning Paints. The paints are ready to use but I add a bit more thinners to the blue colours as they can be strong. I also have 2 bowls - one I have tap water in for washing brushes as I go and in the other I have a bit of thinners - I dip my brush in that after washing them (simply so I don't add tap water to the paint once I've washed the brush.) If it has been dipped in thinners last of all it still has the correct mix of bonding medium on the brush (if that makes sense)!! It's not vitally important but I'm a bit of a fusspot, lol. The colours in our set are based on real flesh for realism. The green neutralises
The blue looks like the deep venous layer in real baby flesh. The pale pigment is the colour of the fat layers that a real baby has. The dark pigment is the melanin in real skin - babies a few days old can get a deep jaundice colour - so you would add more of this colour for that look. The pale mottling blush gives the look of oxygenated blood that flows just below the surface. The pale mottling blush is for the red areas where the capiliaries are really close to the surface of the skin - such as cheeks, knees, feet etc. These colours build up a realistic flesh effect rather than a flat coat of 'flesh' colour. They all work together to bring the kit to life ;)

We do sell corrector washes if you go wrong to save having to strip but here are the general rules-
If it is too blue - add a wash of orange
If it is too orange - add a wash of blue
If it is too yellow - add a wash of purple
If it is too purple - add a wash of yellow
If it is too green - add a wash of red
If it is too red - add a wash of green

Where possible reference with photos of real babies to see where the colours are naturally more intense. There is no right or wrong way, it is all about experimenting. Warmest regards,

Following the sad passing of Spen's mum, we will not be available for work next week from Tuesday evening. We will be attending her funeral and spending time with family and friends.

We will not be restocking these kits.
Please note that it is wise to stock up.
Trump's tariffs on China will have a HUGE impact on vinyl kit availability.
Nevin at BB has explained that they cannot place orders with China whilst the tariffs are so high - the cost to them will almost treble and that would have to be passed on to customers - who obviously won't want to pay three times more for a kit!
This will affect all companies in the USA who have their kits manufactured in China.
Our kits are authentic and priced incredibly low, some even below cost to us at the time of purchase.
Please, please do take advantage whist we still have them :) If you don't, someone else will :/
